21-5-2009 - 13 Weeks 1 Day: Prenatal Viist

My mood while writing this blog: Happy

Had my first prenatal visit today. Got a papsmear, blood drawn and ultrasound. They did the Nucal Fold testing (for down syndrome) and are going to test my thyroid thingamabob. I am only allowed to gain 10-15lbs this pregnancy. (LOL)

Ultrasound: Baby sat still long enough for the tech to get what she needed, then he or she went crazy and kept putting it's back to us, showing a great spine. Hehe. Baby was bouncing off the walls and actually stuck it's tongue out! I have never seen that before. The tech laughed and said "baby is sticking its tongue out" i was like "what?" she said, "see that right there, that is babys tongue". That was neat! Baby then began sucking his/her thumb and playing again. Heartbeat was 163. I hear old wives tails about the hearbeat determining the sex, but with the girls, someone said, oh that is a boys hearbeat, but they ended up being girls. So i will not let that determine if its a boy or girl. I am just going to wait until birth to find out. LOL.

Doc prescribed Phenegran for my nausea. I took it with lunch and now im all drowsy. Still a little queasy but maybe with time i won't notice it too much.

I go back in two weeks (June 4th) at 10am to discuss the lab results they ran today and to see how my nausea is going (or leaving). I got my copy of the ultrasound on DVD, so that is always a fun treat.

Due date is right on target with the meausurements (13 weeks, 1 day) for November 25th 2009 (the day before Thanksgiving), so I will need luck finding a babysitter that close to Thanksgiving. Maybe Ill just pop the baby out at home, so I dont have to find one. LOL..Just joking!
