07-7-2008 - Ahriana is teething

My mood while writing this blog:
Concerned but cool

My baby is teething .. I knew she was but wow this is so early.. she will be 3 months in 3 days and she has been teething for about 2 weeks. She has been clamping down on my breast when she is feeding and let me tell you that is not a fun feeling!! I tell her no and she will cry hard.. I don't say it in a mean manner I just tell her no in a serious tone and she can tell it is not the same tone I usually talk to her in.. but lately she has been ignoring my word "no".. I noticed lately she has been "cluster feeding" only talking sips here and there... she wiggles around and gets upset latching and delatching at the breast.. I make enough milk for her it is her gums that are the issue.. I have to settle her down by placing her over my shoulder and that is when she digs her mouth open deep into my shoulder and she will even bite the hell out of her fist.. I has seen her with red knuckles ..so she is seriously teething. I give her baby orajel which her dad hates because she starts to gag a bit, even cry.. it helps for a bit but she will go after her fist again.. I think it is because the sensation in her mouth has changed from the orajel and she is just curious of the feeling. Last night I was worn out she would not go to sleep on her own and would not give me time to do my "womanly" things.. I need to shave my legs, paint my nails, give myself a facial but this little girl would not let it happen.. I put her in the room but she thinks it is play time she would cry in her crib when I walk in look her over she starts to smile super hard.. I leave and she cries again I go back and she is smiling..clearly she knows what she is doing.. I put her on my bed and figured I can nurse her to sleep.. she latches on and sips than she is using me as a pacifier.. I don't mind..anything to get this little girl to sleep but the minute I get up her eyes open and she is on the move.. I told my husband she is playing us.. he told me she is just a baby.. I tell him duh! and she is a great analyst as well.. she was testing how far and what cues she can give to have us on our toes lol it cracks me up to think about it because my first was the same way. Gosh my baby is getting so big I put her baby cloths away ( the newborn ones) and I wanted to cry.. I even went through my first daughter's baby cloths and wow it was amazing that my baby use to be a baby.. My husband and I want to have a few more.. we even talked about waiting till Ahriana begins walking.. I want one sooner but I have to make sure the timing is right..my husband is willing to go for it now but it is best that we wait for the baby to be a toddler..maybe even 2 yrs old. Soon Ahriana will be on solids and I will have to get an electrical pump to make sure I keep my production up..because once she begins solids she will not nurse like she is now..::sigh:: my babies are growing up.
