Just when the art of breast feeding has fallen into place.. I no longer fear how much time it consumes because it really doesn't take much time to nurse a baby... I took it as God's way in giving a mother time to recuperate ..to sit down and relax for a few minutes to regain energy, thought and a relaxation.. The rhythm of breast feeding has fallen into a lovely pace.. I am able to still maintain my household..visit family and friends..even go shopping.. I no longer fear feeding in public thanks to the lovely nursing apron from peanut at babies r us ::winks:: I can even nurse while having dinner..that is how much it has become one in spirit with me.. I am grateful God has given me the strength to endure nourishing my child all the benefits of breast feeding are awesome. But lately Ahriana's nursing session have been fast and short!! I mean she can nurse wants to nurse ..under 10 mins she is done! just a few moments ago she nursed for only 5 mins! I offered again a about 15 mins later and she nursed only for 2 mins.. I am beginning to worry and don't understand this pattern my child is beginning to get into.. she is a happy baby has wet pampers and poopies but dang this little jellybean only nurses for short periods... the morning sessions she goes for like 15 to 20 mins but the rest of the day it is so quick I am wondering whats up? If I try offering again she will smile and play with her tongue, or put a yucky face and say "blah!" or the worst..she will open wide and clamp down not letting go! The weather is hot but cool in my home.. just the other day I experience slight morning sickness but how can I be pregnant when my husband does not come in me?? we use condoms sometimes but he doesn't go all the way.. he pulls out. I was thinking about getting a test but why waste my time I know I am not pregnant... she is teething so this can play a roll.. I am full of questions and baffled at this...hmmm will figure it out soon.

Babies are something else girl. Micah is being weaned, but he usually falls asleep on the boob and sips here and there on the bottle. There is still a possibity that you could be pregnant even if he withdraws, that is how I conceived my 8 year old. My ex husband always withdrew as well, and even though it took me almost three years to get pregnant that way, it is still possible. You may want to test just in case, but the teething could be a factor as well...

It's possible that she is becoming a more efficient nurser. Travis can empty a breast in 5 minutes so our nursing sessions are about 10 minutes and that's it for at least 3 hours. I have no idea when he started getting so fast but it did seem to almost happen overnight. She could also be going through a phase where she doesn't need as much, perhaps she just got through a growth spurt. As long as she's still having dirty diapers, just relax and enjoy the shorter sessions. I know it's easier said than done, but I really think this will either become her new pattern or she will go back to normal in a day or two.

Welcome to my world. I have experienced all of these things in the last month or two. He is howling right now, but when I go to nurse him he plays or pops on and off in 3-4 minutes. Driving me up a wall. I think kids know best what their patterns are and like anything subject to change without notice to us moms! Patience is the key to endure. They are getting older and more nosey, but always return to the boob to roost(nurse) Hope it gets better for US soon. Have a good one!
