Your baby weighs about 4.4 pounds at this point. The crown-to-rump length of your baby is approximately 12 inches and the total length is around 19.4 inches. Measuring from the top of your uterus to your bellybutton is 5.2 inches. Total weight gain at this point of pregnancy is usually 22 to 28 pounds.
With the exception of crying, your baby is capable of doing everything that a newborn baby will do. Your baby is restricted now inside of the uterus, but still can kick and move. Your baby sleeps a lot of the time, just as newborn babies do. Your baby's eyes move in the manner of REM sleep and researchers believe that babies can dream vividly in uterus. When your baby is awake, she is listening, feeling and learning. There are billions of neurons in the brain that make trillions of connections. Your baby will probably have settled into the birth position by now and your caregiver can most likely tell which way your baby is presenting. If your baby were to be born now, the lungs would probably be strong enough to function properly, but your baby may still need extra care from specially trained doctors and nurses.
During these last few weeks of pregnancy, most women experience an increased urge to urinate. The uterus puts a lot of pressure on the bladder and can send you to the restroom frequently. Your uterus has actually grown 500 times throughout your pregnancy! Red blood cell production catches up with the production of plasma and physiological anemia may begin to fade at this time.
Your baby's eyes open during alert times and close during sleep. The eye color is usually blue, regardless of the permanent color as pigmentation is not fully developed. The final formation of eye pigmentation requires exposure to light and usually happens a few weeks after birth.

33 weeks! Yay!! It’s going by so fast! I can’t wait until he’s here!
I’ve got a drs appointment this afternoon at 2pm to do the glucose test. UGH.. I didn’t want to take it.. but since I’m giving birth in the hospital they are requesting proof that I took it.. why.. I don’t know but it’s irritating to me -especially since I am so far past the recommended weeks for taking it. Hopefully I pass this one cause I’m going to pitch a fit if I have to take the 3hr one. I already passed the random glucose that they did around 16 weeks so I don’t understand why they want to do it again..
Besides having to take the glucose test today I’m actually excited to have an appointment! Why? Because I get to tell my midwife that I was right and that she was wrong.. hehehe.. and no I don’t feel awful for feeling like “I TOLD YOU SO!” because they refused to listen to me about my size. At my last appointment 2 weeks ago I measured barely 28 weeks so she put my week down as 27 and put Joel at 25 weeks. And changed my due date to the end of January. Well on Tuesday of last week I had an ultrasound when I was at the hospital and Joel was measuring 31 weeks 4 days even though I was only measuring right at 28 weeks. So as of today he should be 32 weeks 4 days.. NOT around 28 weeks like she is going to say he is based on my measurement. HA HA HA… this makes me feel so good. Maybe they will start listening to moms now when they come in and say something.. maybe..
I just feel SOOO much better knowing for sure that I was right all along about Joel’s conception date and the fact that even though I am measuring a couple of weeks behind Joel.. nothing is wrong with him! or me for that matter. I’m just small. And finally I have the validation about my due date. She can’t dispute the ultrasound :o)
I don't look too different from last week.. I'll prob still measure the same around 28 weeks or so.
My little bump! I actually had someone ask me on Saturday at the tax office.. are you sure you're pregnant? Um yes lol!
