09-1-2009 - YAY!! (not beanie but still exciting!)

My mood while writing this blog: Ecstatic!

So Bobby and I have been fighting with the IRS for the past four years about an income dispute. He worked with his dad (who has the same name) at this company back before we were married and the company put his dad's income onto bobby's W-2 because they mixed up their names and just created one W-2 which was attached to my husband's social security number. We disputed it and the IRS denied our dispute and have held our returns for the past four years to pay for the tax owed. We appealed the decision to the IRS every year and finally this year the company that Bobby used to work for owned up to their mistake and FINALLY contacted the IRS to sort out the mess. Yesterday we got a check from the IRS with interest!!! Whoo hoo!! Anyone who has had to deal with the IRS knows what a stress it is. I am SOOO glad that is over!

Now we will have enough money for Bobby to take a week off without totally putting our budget out of whack. It's so hard being on one income and we weren't going to be able to afford for him to take any time off but now he can take a week :o)
