My mood while writing this blog: FAT tasticly tired |
So i just got home from a gruesome 2 hour long session at the gym. Why in the hell would i be doing this at 30weeks prego you ask????................Well i had my checkup today and every thing was great with the baby. Heartrate is up again which was our main concern and he is measuring 31 and 1/2cm. But what im most concerned about now is the fact that i gained 2lbs since my 28week checkup. I know that doesnt sound like much now but if i am gaining a pound a week while im still working out than what am i going to gain towards the end when my workouts taper off. Im just feeling like i put in such hard work for no reason. Its hard to stay motivated when you still see the scale creeping up. I just keep telling myself that my body will bounce back so much easier if i keep it up but it just gets hard. Well anyways.....im done bitching cuz we are all in the same boat. Just wanted to vent a little. Guess i should be counting my blessings cuz in about 10 more weeks i will have another beautiful baby boy and our family will be complete. Than i will have the rest of my life to get my body back huh. Well hope you all are doing well and baby dust to those of you trying to concieve. xoxoxoxoxo

Saturday, 14 Feb I read your 30 wk blog, and remember commenting on the weight issue before since we both gained tons of weight with our first pregnancies and managed to work really hard to lose it... I had my son 9 days ago, btw. I ended up gaining 33 lbs with this pregnancy (almost 30 fewer than last time), and ran for 8.5 months, continued walking on the treadmill for an hour and doing light weights until I was "full term" (37 wks). I freaked out about my weight this time from about 22 weeks onward, and particularly once my running cut back dramatically around 30 wks, and in the end it really didn't turn out to be such a big deal. In fact, I've only stepped on a scale twice since Liam's birth, and in 9 days I've already dropped about 18 lbs. Granted, I'll not likely lose all 33 lbs in the first 4 wks postpartum, but I'll probably be able to attribute at least 22-25 of it to "baby weight" before I start working out/running again in 3 wks. So, I'll only have about 10 lbs to lose compared to over 30 last time... Point is this: you're doing better than I did this time, and I still managed to stay within the recommended "25-35" lb range. If you're doing better than I did and I'm only going to have about 10 lbs to lose from working out, you're likely to have less to worry about than me. If you haven't seen any of the breakdowns of where pregnancy weight goes, it's typically like this: 7-8lbs baby, 1.5 lbs placenta, 2 lbs uterus, 2lbs amniotic fluid, 2 lbs increased breast tissue, 3-4 lbs increased blood volume, 4-5 lbs water retention... for a total of 22-25 lbs. I highly doubt you're going to have too much to lose! Just keep eating healthy and going to the gym, and stay optimistic :-) proudmommyof3♥ -
