Madison-Alivia`s birthstory

September 2nd was my due date.. And on September 1st my cervix was still completely closed, so I was scheduled for an induction on Tuesday September 8th. I checked into the hospital Monday night at 9 o'clock so they could start me on cytotec, which was a pill that is placed on your cervix and it helps to soften your cervix. I was given the first pill at 11 o'clock..and I was supposed to recieve a second one in 6 hours and they would start me on pitocin in the morning. By 12 I was having contractions..and I asked for ambien which was to help me sleep, but my contractions were preventing me from sleeping so I was delerious! By 4:30 I was 5 cm..but before they checked my cervix they gave me medication through my iv to take some of my discomfort away..and this medicine completely put me out of it! After they realized I was 5 cm they asked if I wante my epi and I said yes! So I was given the epi..and my contractions weren't overly painful before hand just
more uncomfortable than anything. But the epi took ALL that away..plus the medication I was given ontop of it really did the trick. I slept peacefully until 6:30 when they checked my cervix again and I wa 8 to 9 cm..the doctor came n and broke my water and at 7 I was completely dialted and started pushing. Madison Alivia Rivers arrived at 8:03 am Tuesday September 8th, 2009 weighing in at 7 lbs 7 oz, and 21 inches long! I had the most wonderful birth experience I could have ever asked for..I ended up not even having to be induced, one pill did the trick for me! 6 days overdue...I finally had my little girl, All ten fingers and all ten toes.. Perfect in every way!
