Hannah Carol-Anne Weidholz, has made her entrance into this world on Wednesday March 25th at 9:25 am. She weighed 8 lbs 13.5 oz and is 20 inches long.
My birth story is pretty simple, so here goes…..
I woke up at 5 am on Wednesday March 25th 2009 to get ready for the c-section delivery of Hannah, I actually slept the night before surgery, which shocked the hell out of me! So, I took a shower and got dressed and ready for our big day! We arrived at the hospital at 7 am and were off to a room for pre-op work to be done. My IV was started and a monitor was placed on my belly to track Hannah’s heart rate and I was actually contracting still!! They told me I would a few weeks ago when I was in for false labor and I did!! LOL….anyways, so getting back to my pre-op stuff…. I get the most retarded Nurse ever apparently…she was putting in my IV to pump me full of fluids before I got into surgery and totally blew out my vein while digging around in the back of my left hand for a vein! Damn that HURT!! And now thanks to that, I have a giant bruise all the way across my hand and my knuckles are yellow & purple! So of course she has to stick me in the other hand to start the IV and I told her if she doesn’t think she can find it then get someone else cause I do not want to do that again! It was so gross to see my hand swell up from the blown vein, it made me nauseous and light headed and made me get all clammy and sick! Damn that was awful!!
Ok, so from there I went into Delivery Room #2, and they had it all set up for my c-section and the anesthesiologist came in and introduced himself and answered all my questions. One of which was if I was having an epidural or just a spinal tap….turns out I got a spinal….which was easier and less painful and less side effects!! YIPPEE!!! I was so relieved that there was no catheter going into my spine this time…I hated that with my first one! He was really nice too…..thank god, because I was a nervous wreck. But all went well getting the spinal tap, a hell of a lot better than the epidural and then they inserted the foley catheter into my bladder after I was numb, YIPPEE again!! They didn't do that 13 years ago!! Ouch!
So I was on the table, numbed up, catheter in my bladder and laid out on the table….right at 9am they started the delivery, Hannah was born at 9:25am and was crying before she was even out of my belly completely…he he he!!! Totally my daughter, yelling and carrying on and ready to be the center of attention!!!!! So, out she came, my doc tied my tubes, and before she sewed me back up she found that I had a hernia!! It was a small hernia, but she had to fix it before I was sewn upfrom the c-section...so that was a few extra minutes on the operating table! I was in recovery by 10:05 am, after all was said and done I basically had three surgeries in one! Bonus for me right....wrong!!! That hernia kills!!! But talk about fast, she was a whiz with her needle when she sewed me up!
Jason was my super hero through out the whole thing, admittedly I was a mess and a half about a repeat c-sec…and he was there to help and hold me and reassured me th whole time. He is my heart, my love, my soul….I couldn’t have asked for anything more from him! He was really concerned when I started crying when they cut me open, it didn't hurt it just reminded me that in a few minutes my life was forever changed! It was a hell of a realization, and one that I never made when I had Nikki 13 years ago!
So on to the next part of our big day, Jason went off to the nursery with Hannah to get checked out by the doc's and to let all our family and friends know that baby Hannah was here!! I spent an hour in recovery getting checked every five minutes and was in my own room by 11:15am! Our family and friends we’re at the hospital waiting to meet our new daughter, and they weren’t disappointed that’s for sure!!!! He he he….we are all doing well so far, even if I do have a bit of incision pain, but that’s what drugs are for! We came home on Friday afternoon and have had lots of visitors already, and more coming tomorrow, I love it all. So that’s about it for now. Look for more blogs later with Hannah updates. Take care!!
