Vanessa-Lynn's-birth story

I went into the hospital on Aug 1, 2008 for a scheduled induction at 5am. I was given cervidel (sp) to thin my cervix out but had to wait six hours for it to work. After that I was given Pitocin to start the contractions. They started around 1:30 pm. I was in extreme pain until I asked for an epidural around 4:30 pm and was feeling great. I started to push around 11:30 pm. Pushed until 1:45 am on the 2nd when the doctor said that her head was coming out sideways and was stuck. She believed that it would not help to continue pushing or using the vacuum. She suggested a c-section. Scared as I was about a c-section I agreed and my husband and I got ready for it. It wasn`t as bad as I thought it was going to be. It was quick, she was born at 2:46 am. Her name is Vanessa Lynn and is absolutely gorgeous. I stayed in the hospital for four days to recover. Recovery is difficult from a c-section, but it is all worth it. Our first night home with her was great. She is such a calm baby. I couldn`t have asked for a more perfect daughter. I am looking forward to spending time with her over the next couple of months before I have to head back to work.
