Alyssa-May-Torres`s birthstory

Well I went in to be induced at 7:00 pm on the 14th.; at 10:00 they inserted the cervical ripening and did a membrane sweep.. owch. It really does hurt!. At 4:00 am I woke up with horrible cramps. Around 6:00am I couldn’t take it anymore and they gave me demerol. I totally knocked out until like 9:30am. at 10.00am the doctor removed the cervical ripening and I was in so much pain by that time that I kicked the doctor! Around 12:00 I was 3 centimeters almost 4 and I was yelling for the epidural! And they gave it to me. For the record. I did not feel it at all! And it was done in 5 min. and it started to work right away. It was amazing! I even asked the doctor if I was still in labor!! Lol I felt normal like nothing had happened! Lol well around 6:30pm I started to push but was so numb they took off the epidural. (talk about pain!!) after pushing for 2 hours and almost passing out from the pain. The doctor tried every position possible! Then the doctor tried the vacuum and that’s when he noticed I was too narrow and the baby wasn’t going to fit. And he said c-section! I started to cry ( I had just seen the movie awake about a guy who is awake during surgery and felt everything but couldn’t move or scream) and I was crying and crying! I really really really didn’t want a c-section. Then they took me to the operating room and they put the medicine in me and started yelling for my boyfriend. And the doctor told the nurse to go get him. Then I passed out alittle and I remember waking up and yelling where is my boyfriend! And my doctor yelled at the nurse and she went to get him and he came in. and I looked at him I was sooo scared and I was like babe tell me when they start to cut me. And I heard the baby cry! And I was like who’s baby is that. And he was crying and he was like ours! And I was like they already cut me? And he started laughing and he was like there almost done!! At that point they called him to cut the cord. And they brought my baby and I gave her a kiss and passed out! I woke up and I looked down and they were cleaning me and I remember watching them clean me and I couldn’t feel them cleaning me. And then they had to lift me and put me on the other bed and as they lifted me I couldn’t feel it. The c section was awesome!!!!! I didn’t feel anything!!! (She was born at 9:22 pm 6 pounds 14 ounces and 19 inches long. )





what happened after? It’s not over! lol

After that they put me in the recovery room. And I fell asleep for a little while and woke up and my boyfriend was there with me. And I was shivering A LOT! Side affect from the medicine. Then they put a warmer that looked like a vacuum on me and I got really hot and they went to check my temperature and it was high. So they told me I couldn’t get my baby until the following day! I was so mad I knew that it was from the heater! I told them to check me again now that the heater was gone and they did and my temp was normal. And I was like see!!! Bring my baby! And they said they couldn’t that I had to not have fever for 24 hours before I get my baby! i was sooooo mad!!!! I couldn’t feel from my chest down so I was like what can I do? I was sooo sad. Then they noticed that my iv was moved during labor and my whole right hand was swollen really bad and they moved the iv to my other hand. So the next morning I had feeling back (ouch) and my temp was still good but I still had to wait. So I had the nurse go upstairs and tell me how my baby was doing. In the afternoon they came in and told me they had to make sure that I did not have internal bleeding! And they press down on your stomach soooo hard I was crying so badly. You can feel everything they did to you the day before, and it hurts so bad they did that three times through out the day. one time I almost passed out from the pain.on top of the fact I couldn’t move my right hand because of how swollen it was. Then they wanted to take out blood and they said I had to do it before I get my baby but my right hand was swollen and my left had the iv. So they tried my right hand 12 times in 12 different places and it was so swollen that everytime they suck in the needle they had to move it around under the skin. It got so badly brused!!! But nothing. I got so mad I was like it you f**cken see that you can’t take out blood why the f**k do you keep trying on that arm! Stop the iv on my left arm and do it there!!! And they did and success.. finally they bring me my baby.i was there for 6 days in total and they come in every 10-20 min to check on you and it gets so annoying because you are in so much pain that you can barley get up to grab your baby and you just put the baby to sleep and they come in and wake her up ! every 10-20 min! ugh! then on the second day they were telling me to get up and walk! i was like WHAT! i was in sooooooo much pain that i couldn`t even sit up how was i supposed to walk! i told them to leave me alone with that crap! i was in soooo much pain ! some nurses were great and helped out alot. but then you have those nurses that look like they hate thier job...lol... then on the 5th day they told me my baby had light jaundice... i was so angry they wait until the last minute too tell you and then i had to stay. but thank god it went away by the next day and they let me go. finally! and even after all the pain and everything it is all worth it and i would do it all over again for my beautiful little girl.
