Meliyah-Jade`s birthstory
Thursday August 28th I started feeling a lil trickle of fluid, I didnt think nothing of it since my baby had been pressing on my bladder so badly that I could have just had a lil accident. My husband was gone overnight to a mission so I was alone at home watching the DNC coverage on CNN all night and I just couldnt get a good night rest. My legs and joints were hurting and I just felt like I was coming down with the flu, I felt another trickle of fluid and I started getting worried. It didnt smell like Urine but I wasnt having any pain or contractions and finally fell asleep. When I got up Friday morning, there was another lil gush and I that made me decide to call my doctor who told me to come right in. I took a shower and checked my hospital bag to make sure I had everything ready to go in case we had to. Once I got to the doc she told me that it was indeed amniotic fluid leaking and my cervix had pratically disappeared cause it was so short. She wanted me to go straight to the hospital. I called my hubby who had to leave the mission and meet me at home, so we could get the bags and go to the hospital. He got there a lil after I did and decided he needed a shower. HELLO??? I AM IN LABOUR, i started having light contractions and the pressure was getting really bad. We got to the hospital a lil before 4 and they checked me again, put me on the fetal monitor and started drawing blood. Since I had an idea that I might go into surgery, I had not eaten or drunk anything, my veins did not want to give blood. My entire arms are still covered in really bad blue bruises. I should have known then, that things werent gonna be as easy as I thought. They finally found a way to give me an IV, I went through so much pain just for that already, when they were getting me ready for surgery I thought it couldnt get much worse. Ha, lil did I know that the Spinal was not gonna take. The anesthesia guy was rude and couldnt get it to work, he kept pressing agains my hips and spine then gave me a local number which already hurt, but whenever he tried to put the real needle for the spinal in there I could still feel alot of pressure, pain and some muscle spasms. He tried 6 times until he called his boss, a really nice and competent lady who tried one time and figured right away that I had a curved spine and I had to be knocked out in order to have this c section. At that point I really didnt care any more, I was shaking from pain, having hot flashes and was at the brink of passing out over and over again. I was appearently knocked out for 2 hours, when i woke up my first question was How is my baby and its a girl right? lol and then I saw my husband coming towards me with this lil bundle in his hand, I started crying and was so amazed, she was the most gorgeous thing i had ever layed eyes on. I love her and although recovery has been a bit hard because of alot of back pain and soooooooore nipples from breast feeding, I am the happiest mother on earth. There is no greater miracle and blessing from God than the creation of life. I am blessed and enjoying every moment of this new beginning. OH yes and I am so happy not to be pregnant any more. THANK YOU GOD.
