Morgan-Grace,-4.09.09,-6.9lbs`s birthstory
We were lucky as we knew what date our little angel was arriving. Surprisingly we both slept well the night before her arrival. That morning i just passed it by on facebook lol until we were due to leave for hospital. Before going to hospital we had to drop off my 3yr old son to a friends house and told him i had to take daddy to work as he would have wanted to come. We dropped him off and arrived at the hospital on time @ 11.00. We filled in the necessary paper work and then escorted to a lounge were we had to wait until they had our room organised. At about 1.00 we got to our room were they preped me for surgery. 3.30 soon came and they wheeled me down to theatre adn they further got me ready....i had a visit from the anethesitistwho informed me about the surgery and the risks associated and they put in my dip and allowed a few bags of fliud to enter my body. I was becoming very nervous and i think because of the added fliud was starting to feel different. They finally wheeled me into threatre where they lift me up on the surgery table while i had one doctor talking to me about everyday things to calm the anethestist then place the spinal into my back. This was very nerve racking and took sometime. My partner was over to one side sitting comfortably in a nice leather/office type chair. I made a remark saying id prefer being in his sit then mine. The doctors joked alog saying yes becareful not to look to comfortable or you might pay for it. Once the spinal block was in the then help lay me down and the table was slightly turned to once side. A plastic wall went up to block the procedure our of mine and my partners view and one doctor had a piece of ice and asked where i could feel it and where i couldnt to montior the effect of the spinal. My legs went numb and they explained what the where doing with the position if them. My breathing felt hampered like i had to consiously take deep breathes and i felt a little scatty as well due to the effects of the drugs. The whole time the were doing the procedure my partner was holding my hand and reassuring me everything was going fine and i was doing well. It took sometime and the one of the doctors watching said they could see the head and here baby was coming. Looking at each other, we heard the first cry and then she appeared over the wall for our first glance which we have a photo of. I was just starring at her trying to figure out who she looked like. The feeling of first seeing your baby is very overwhelming. My partner had a tear in his eye also. The doctors did what they needed to and then passed her back to me for first hold and she calmed down again. The doctors continued working on me and the my partner escorted his baby girl to the nursery and later met me back at our room where all our visitors where waiting for us. I spent about 20mins in recovery and could not wait to get back so i could hold her. Oncei finally got there i could see my son and evryone waiting my partner passed our little girl to me, she was snorting which suggested she was hungry, i was surprise, i tried latching her and she took to it straight away whch so nice that i was able to bond with her right from the get go. My visitors left and it was just me my partner and my son until the left around 8.00. That night she stayed with me awhile. I was still heavily sedated adn they also had to administered medication to stop the itching from the morphine. They started pain relief straight away so the pain i felt was limited. That night i was to excited to sleep well but i think i got about 3-4hrs sleep. That morning when they wheeled her back in....was very exciting it was like christmas morning as a kid, just so exciting that i was finally with my little baby and that feeling stayed with me my entire hospital stay. It just felt like christmas,,,,sssoooo exciting. 4days later we were able to take her home and we are still enjoying her so much, she barely leaves my side, she even sleeps on my chest at night. She is always attached to me. I especially love taking her shopping, i feel like a star holding her! i love showing her off, there is someting magical about the presence of a newborn, everyone loves them. She is just adorable. I figure i waited so long to hold her, im not letting her go now i can!! :-)
