Harris-Andrew`s birthstory
Well finally met my little munchkin. My original due date was 8th May, but due to medical condition i had a planned c section on 30thApril. It didn`t however go as smoothly as i thought it would. My waters broke on 27th, so went to maternity ward, they put me on machine to monitor baby for few hours, then sent me home with an appointment for the next morning. I continued to leak all night, and went back to maternity the following day. They did the same as the night before, then sent me home telling me that they couldn`t deliver my baby that day or the next as they had three planned c sections booked in for both days. My hubby and i were concerned as 60 hours were going to have passed between my waters breaking and my schedulded date. But they told us that it was fine and not to worry. Spent the next few days at home leaking, then at 3am on the 30th i woke in labour, started having contractions every half hour, then they picked up a gear and were coming roughly every 10 mins. Called the hospital and they told me to have a bath, then come in. The pain was excruitating, and by this piont i didn`t think i would make it to my time (11.30am) Once at the hospital they put me on the monitor, and gave me paracetamol, after about an hour, the contractions started to get further apart, but were still intense. So they re-schedulded me to first on the list 08.45am. Was very nervous waiting to go theatre, and very concerned about the spinal injection (as i was still contracting) Was daunting walking into the theatre, and i hated the feeling that i had lost control of the situation. But before i knew it i heard a very loud ear piercing scream and my beautiful boy was here. They showed him to my husband and i and we couldn`t believe how big he looked. Was only in hospital one night, i didn`t want to stay any longer. Most of the staff were lovely, but i had reaction to the morphine which made me v itchy, and it took them a long time to get round to helping me with it. (one even told me that my itch was not a major priority) i did however tell her that it was to me. So we headed home with our wee bundle, the birth was not quite how i imagined it was going to be, but being a mummy to my wee miracle is a million times better than i ever could`ve imagined.
