Matthew-`s birthstory

We went in for yet another nst and ultrsound on Friday, Apr 25. They didn`t like the results so they said to go straight to the hospital to see what they would say, because their equipment is better. They ended up admitting me to start labor next morning. at 11:30 we started and they added pitocin very slowly to give Mattie time to adjust. about 10:30 i started acting like i was going to have him, but i was only 5 cm dilated. they decided to break my water but i opened only 1 cm more and had to ask for an epidural but they saw that Mattie was getting distressed and we needed to do a c-section anyway so they added some kind of fluid that was supposed to act like the amniotic fluid. after the epidural, everythig was so easy. they took him out and said that he was all wrapped up in the umbilical cord. it was around his neck tightly once, lightly the 2nd time, once around his stomach and once around his legs. no wonder he was distressed. So baby Mattie is exactly what his name means: Gift of God. We could not be more happy.
