THIS IS GOING TO BE LONG~~ I went and got my membranes stripped on wedensday the 11th and was still only 1 cm dialated... that night i began to lose some of my plug, but feeling good otherwise.... then thursday early afternoon i began to get menstral like cramps that would not go away, they were constant, and then i began to get blood with my plug, i was really hoping that this was it! the cramps were still there by 9pm so i called the nurses and they told me that they would have the doctor call me, 20 min later she called and told me that because i had just gotten my stripping done that that would cause cramping and bleeding, so i was NOT happy... i thought that they would tell me to come in. At 1140pm i woke up from what i thought would be contractions (i wasnt sure because i never even had BH`s) i tried to go back to sleep but i couldnt. my stomach was tightening and the cramps were still constant. finally at 130am i started to time them... they were coming every 3-5 min and lasting 45 sec-1 min... so after an hour i called the nurses again and told them everything that was going on, and the doctor called back and said that it sounded like the start of something and that i could go in. We got to the hospital around 330am they hooked me up began monitoring. i was still contracting the same and baby was doing well. but i was still only 1cm... by 7am they checked me again and i never changed... contractions still were the same and i was still only 1cm dialated.... so they told me that i could stay and see if anything would happen but i wouldnt be able to eat while i was there... (i havent eaten since 5pm the night before) or i could go home or go walk around the mall and try to dialate more... i was SOOO hungry and i needed something just incase i would go into labor through out the day i would need some energy, so we decided to go out and walk the mall and i had to go back to the doctor at 1130am (it is friday now) when i did... i STILL didnt change at all 1 cm... so i asked if i could have until 3pm to try and walk more and dialate... so i we went out and came back in... and i was only 2cm at this time but STILL contracting... so they told me that i could stay and that they would just induce me them instead of wedensday the 18th... so i was going to have my baby!!! i was in my room by 330pm and they broke my water at 400pm and started me on pitocin. at this time i was contracting every 3 min... i had HORRID HORRID HORRID back labor because my little baby was posterior. it was unbarable so they checked me to see if i could have an epidural but i was ONLY 3 cm dialated!!! i thought it was never going to end... nothing changed for a looonnnnggg time... i was contracting ever 3 min max but i was having a few that were coming within 30 sec of eachother... about every other 5 contractions were that way! ...FINALLY at 1145pm friday night they checked me agian and i was 3 1/2 cm dialated and they told me that i could have an epidural... THANK GOODNESS!!! By 1230am saturday i was out like a light! The doctor came in at 1am and said that i was dialated between 6-7cm! He left and i fell asleep right away again... he came back in at 200am and i was 8-9 cm! i was amazed! i couldnt feel a thing... and i was thankful that i could acually sleep alittle! i was so excited that i couldnt sleep anymore so i layed there watching my babys heart rate for an hour until the doctor came in at 3 and checked me AGAIN.... and i was at 10 cm!!! he told me i was ready to begin pushing! (its wierd because usually when you have an epidural it will slow labor down a little.... well for me... from the time they broke my water till i got the epidural... almost 8 hours... i was STUCK at at 3cm! so with in those 3 hours i dialated 7 cm!!!) i began to push around 3:14am i was pushing close to 3 times every 5 min... i was getting sooo scared because our little ones heart rate was dropping down to the 70`s! but i kept pushing and an hour and a half later the doctor came in and told me that they have to use forceps... and that they werent sure if that would work and if it wouldnt then i would have to have a c-section... so at 4:45amish they brought in the salad tongs... a.k.a forceps... and they began that... at this point i was still pushing constantly... about 3 times every 3-2 minutes!!! (i was getting sooo winded and they put oxygen on me... my mom said that i looked like i was ready to go into shock... there were a lot of times that my whole body would start shaking uncontrolably)... they had to do an episiotomy and it turned out to be a 2nd degree cut... the forceps ended up working and i had had my little one at 5:14 am Saturday! When baby came out they clipped the cord immediately and rushed over to check baby out... they never told me what the baby was... a boy or a girl... when they broke my water there was meconium, i tested pos for GBS and then also because they had to use forceps... so they were in a rush... finally i said `WHAT IS IT!!!` and they told me that i had a presious GIRL! im sooo thankful everything went so well... all of that pain that i went through was well worth it becuase of the gift in the end.... and after 2 hours of straight pushing... im glad that it is all done! and now i have my beautiful little girl!
