Biggest achievement so far:
On the night of Monday April 6th I got out of the shower and layed in bed when I noticed around 10:30 I started to have menstral type cramping. I noticed they came in waves every 8-10 minutes so I just kept timing them. They started to get a little more intense and closer together. Once I noticed they were 5 minutes apart I decided to call my doctors. since they were 5 minutes apart she told me to go to Labor & Delivery. So on our way we went! We got to the hospital around 2:30am (on my due date 4/7/09!) at this point contractions were gettin pretty painful where I couldnt talk while having them! At 3:00am I wass dialated to 3cm and 90% effaced I was being admitted!! :) At 6am nurse asked if I would like the edipural and I was soo happy!!! PURE HEAVEN!! I was checked again around 9:30 and I was already at 7cm with a bulging bag of water!! YIPPY....(not so much lol) If only I knew how long it would take me to get to 10cm lol Sooo around 11 the nurse comes in and says...the antibiotic we gave you for your strep b is one of the antibiotics that is non efrfective to the bacteria...I was like WHAT...why didnt you know this when you gave it to me...she said she didnt get my chart til just now..then proceeds to say and the other antibiotics that are effective are in the penicillin family (which I am allergic to) which means you could be allergic to them too so we cant give you any antibiotic for the strep b...I broke down....then she left and came back and said the doc said he would give me one but there is a 10% chance you will have a reaction...I asked if it would hurt my baby she said no...so She gave it to me...so now we are hoping I dont get til 10cm till at least 4 hours later so the antibiotics have time to take effect....at 1:30 I was at 9cm.....and finalllllly at 4 I was fully dialated. And the pushing begins...For some reason I had HORRIBLE butt pain.,..even with epidural...I felt like I had bowling ball coming out my rear!! lol & I kept saying that!!! lol Finally it got so bad I didnt even wanna push anymore..the epi guy came in a reloaded my epi and we were alll good from there...She was born after1.5 hours of pushing weighing in at 6pds 9ozs 19inches long with a head full of black hair!!! We are in such amazment of her!! :) She is worth every ache and pain!!!!!!!!!!!
