Erika-Rae`s birthstory

August 6th-- I spent the day cleaning a lot... I cleaned out our van, vacuuming it completely. I baked cookies and made a nice supper. That night I took a long bath and decided I would try using my breast pump... I figured I might as well try this method of `inducing` labor since I`d be induced Friday anyways. I pumped for 20 minutes, having 2 contractions during the pumping. When I got done, I had a huge cramp and I ran to the bathroom. Then, I began having contractions every 3 minutes!! I called my husband to come home (he was working just a few miles away in our shop). It was around 11:30 now. I told him I would time them a little longer. Well, around midnight they stopped. SO, I was a little disappointed and decided to just go to bed. I layed down and then began having way more intense contractions every 5 minutes. My husband came home and checked on me. I told him what was going on but told him we shouldn`t get too excited yet because I had false labor a lot already. Well, no matter what I did the contractions didn`t go away and kept on coming. So around 1:30 I called L & D and they told me to come in. I got there at 2:50 AM. Labor got more and more intense as I was dialating pretty steadily. I got an epideral around 5 (big relief!) and by 10:23 she was born. Everything went so perfect. Nobody can believe how much dark long hair she has either!! She is beautiful!

This is our beautiful little girl Emma. She is so excited to have a baby brother- or so that's what she thinks it will be. Emma knew somehow I was pregnant and even started telling people I was before we even knew it. Maybe she's right about the boy part too.
