On Friday April 10th, I had an u/s to check on baby and size. I was measuring a little small and had not gotten bigger in the past few weeks. The u/s tech said the reason was because the fluid was a little low and the baby had not grown either since the last u/s. So she said we would need to see a Dr before she could let us go home. So we saw the Dr and they said you are going to be induced today!!! We were shocked, not really what we had expected, I was kinda scared and excited all at the same time. Dr said baby is ready and needs to be born soon! So I was admitted to the hospital that morning around 10am. I wanted to try the gel that they insert into your cervix to get labor started. Dr said sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt. I wanted to go as natural as I could. So they did that around 11am and by 3pm I was having contractions about every 3 mins apart! I was walking the halls and had to stop every time a contraction came. So they hooked me up to the monitors for a little while to make sure the baby was ok and see how strong the contractions were. Baby was doing fantastic and my contractions were pretty strong. I was breathing and sitting on my labor ball, it really wasnt all that bad. Nate was a lot of support! I defnitily couldnt have done it without him! They checked me at about 5pm and I was still at 3cm but was 100% effaced. I started about at about 3cm and 70% effaced. I was a little disappointed that I was not progressing faster. Well things went fast after that! Around 8pm contractions were really really strong and about 1-2 min apart. The nurses were so surprised how well I was handeling it and that I didnt want any epideral or pain meds. I told them I was feeling some pressure so they checked me at about 9:30 pm and I was at 5cm and baby was dropped down even further. Then around 11:00 pm I was feeling A LOT of pressure. So they checked me and I was 10cm and ready to push!! I pushed for about an hour 1/2 and at 12:21AM on April 11th Chloe Elizabeth was born! It was the most amazing experience ever! I did not tear or need stitches or an episiotomy!!! I was very happy about that! So I got my all natual birth, I am so blessed that everything went so well and we have our baby girl!!!
