Well, I am finally writing this birth story for u mommies. So here is how my beautiful little girl came into this world! After being 8 days over due my doctor finally decided it was time to induce. I was so nervous it was pathetic but all went well for me. So, I went n2 the hospital on Wednesday March 26 @ 5:00. I filled out my paperwork and then headed to the room where I would stay. The nurse hooked me up to the IV for my fluids and told me a doctor would be in here to explain what they were gon to do with me. Well, she came in and explained to me that she would be inserting a balloon type(she also called it a flolley bulb) object to help my cervix ripen(along with cervidel). So she inserted that @ about 7:00. The REAL contractions didnt kick in until about 8:00. I was feelin menstral like cramps, they were comin on mild but very frequently, but I just knew these were contractions. The doctor told me that the balloon(flolley bulb-Sp?) would fall out at 3-4 cm and @ the time i was only 1-2 cm, 50% effaced and she was @ -2 station. So @ 2:30 a.m I was havin the worst contractions...to the point where i was in tears, cryin for my momma to come hold me! So the doctor came in and tugged on the string attached to the balloon and out it came... I was then 3 cm! So after that, they told me they were going to put pitocin into my IV to bring on stronger contractions to help me dilate. So when i heard that the contractions were goin 2 b stronger, I then wanted to get the epidural because, if they were going 2 get worse than the mild contractions id hate to know what harder ones felt like! So the guy came in there and OMG ladies- u are crazy not to get an epidural. I actually thought the IV they put into my arm hurt worse than the epidural...I didnt even feel him put it in seriously! It was great. So i had the epidural and then they started pitocin. I didnt feel anymore contractions but also hated the feelin that i couldn`t feel my legs when i touched them. So @ about 9:00 a.m., my doctor from my appointments(which i love and his name was Dr. Tovar) came in and he checked my cervix. I was only 4 cm dilated and 50% effaced still. So he broke my water @ 9:06. That felt really weird, but i kinda liked it. I still didnt feel nething. Well i was gettin bored and couldn`t sleep so my nurse(Jerry Pang- the cutest lil guy from china) came in a played this little guitar thing(starts with a u but i cant say it or pronounce it) for me and my mom and Josh. He played and sang `My Old Kentucky Home`, this hawaiian song called `Honestly`( i liked it- it was pretty), and then he sang Jalynn `Happy Brithday`. It was fun really. So, they checked my cervix again. I was then at 5 cm and 75% effaced! I was going at a slow rate. They started talkin c-section and i was like `NO, No, NO, NO`. So then my mamaw and papaw from a differnt county came in and we were talkin and my papaw was tryin to make me laugh like he always used to. I then started to feel the contractions again. I felt like i was leakin more water and that she was comin down even more. So my mom asked them to check me cause i was startin 2 feel very uncomfortable. Can u believe i was @ 8 cm and 100% effaced??!! I went from 5 cm to 8 cm in 45 minutes. I started to freak out and cry and kept sayin that i couldnt do this. So the doctors left and when they came back i was feelin even more pressure and i told them i had to use the bathroom(it felt like i had 2 do #2 real bad!- sorry if TMI, but thats what it feels like.) So he checked me again and i was 10 cm, 100% effaced, but she was still @ a -2 station, so she was still pretty high. But i went from 5 cm to 10 cm in like 1 hour and 10 minutes! So i was crying uncontrolably. I thought i was dyin. The nurse came in and told me my doctor was with another pregnant lady and that @ 5:00 I would start pushin. @ 5 my doctor wasnt nowhere to be seen and so i just started pushing by myself...the nurses rushed over and they said ok we will start now. My sister in the waitin room said she saw Dr Tovar(my doctor) runnin towards the room as fast as he could! lol. So when he arrived i was already pushin. By the second push they were tellin my how good i was don, and how i was a good pusher for a first timer, and asked if this was really my first child. lol what can i say- i was a pro! lol I keep thinkin about how they said she had a head full of hair so i just wanted to see cause it is kinda hard to believe cause i didn`t have 1 hair on my head when i was first born and neither did josh! I was gettin mad cus i thought i was don bad and they were jus tryin to say i was don good. So i pushed her out with my madness! It felt so good to push REALLY! I mean the contractions are the worst part, pushin feels good! I was pushin without havin contractions. So i only pushed for 35 minutes and out popped my Lil` Princess- Jalynn Taylor. She had a head full of black hair(me and josh both had blonde hair when we finally got it) and she weighed 7 lbs exactly and was 20 inches long. She is the most precious lil thing ive ever laid my eyes on and I am so in love...I would go threw all the pain i went threw and do it again for her. I got a first degree tear and have one small stitch so it wasnt that bad! I just love her! Good luck to all the mommies to b and mommies to lil` ones already. I had a wonderful birth experience and just remember- ITS NOT AS BAD AS THEY SAY IT IS! U CAN DO IT! And, of course, its all worth it!
