Amelia-Inalee`s birthstory

Went in to the clinic for a check up on the 18th and they stripped my membranes. The next day I was having some bad back pain and wound up going in to L & D to get checked out. I wasn`t in Triage more than 30 minutes when the doc came in and said she wanted to get baby out as soon as possible because she thought she was too large.

I was admitted at 2:00 and was given an U/S that determined the baby to be over 12 pounds, so Dr. Stone gave me the option to be given Pitocin and try a vaginal delivery or go straight for the C-Section...after them voicing concern over her shoulders getting stuck in the canal, we opted for the C-Section, which the scheduled for 10 pm that night.

I kissed my husband before going in to get my spinal, and before my head even hit the pillow 3 docs and 4 nurses were running around like crazy people because my blood pressure dropped and the baby`s heart rate dropped really fast. Before I knew it, Amelia was out and getting weighed before Joe was even able to get in the room.

Everything was going fine after that until I was in Recovery I started to hemorrage and bleeding out clots the size of canteloupes, and was rushed back into surgery to stop it ASAP. the docs said if I didn`t get back in there now, that they would have to do a hysterectomy. Shortly after, I passed out and woke up an hour or so later back in recovery after surgery and 2 blood transfusions.

The next 4 days were pretty tough. I was very weak and couldn`t get out of bed until the 23rd. I had a total of 5 blood transfusions and am finally starting to feel back to my old self....but am told it will take time and lots of rest for me to heal completely.

With all the blood loss, my milk is having a hard time coming in, and have only just today starting producing....so she may just stay on formula.

But in order to look at that gorgeous face I would do it all over again. I have never been so in love in my life.
