Ayden-Michael`s birthstory

I had my 38 week Dr appt on Monday , Oct. 29 at 11:15 am so we left my house ( my 2 children and I ) between 8:30 and 8:45 am to get there on time. There was traffic as usual so I got there at 11. While I was there He checked me ( the kids were doing their work in the waiting room) and there was no change from the week before. Disappointing because I had a feeling about this week. I was still soft but completely closed. I had asked the Dr about induction because he had said there really isn`t any difference between 38 weeks and 40 weeks the baby just continues to get bigger. He asked when I would like to have it schedualed for and I replied well Wed. sounds good. lol he said well I was thinking about next week but I will call the hospital to see if it would be possible for Wed. but schedual an appt for next week any way. so I said ok and made my appt for the following Tuesday at my normal 11:15 am.
We then headed off to my mother`s house since she was off of work that day because she and my aunt and uncles had to take care of some things with my grandfather`s estate. I didn`t get by her until 2 pm because of Yes even more construction. It should have only taken about a half hour to get there. I stopped at White Castle to pick up some lunch for us all before we got there. We then went up to the store to buy the stroller I wanted. when we were ther I changed my mind and am waiting until the new model comes out because I like that one better. lol. We Went back to her house and I packed the children up in the car to start on the ride home at 5 pm. When I was still in the drive way I coughed a bit and felt a little wet so I went back int the house while my mom was still out side with the kids to check it out. Nohting seemed to be leeking or anything while I was sitting ther but my poise pad was wet and I went to change it but noticed I had no more, so I tool a towel with me just in case ( because I didnt want to wet the seat regaurdless of what it was.lol. So away I went home and guess what Ore traffic ( there is construction everywhere ). On the way home I thought I my have been feel wet here and there when you know when you shift your self a bit when you ride in the car a long time, but I wasnt really sure and I really wasnt worried by it.
I pull in my drive way at 8 pm. I went to get out of the car and there was no mistaking that my water broke as I started to get out and I could feel more and more wet. I calmly asked the kids to go inside and get daddy for me. they went in and he came out he was saying whats wrong? I told him I`m all wet and was trying to walk with the towel between my legs so it wouldn`t run down and soak my shoes. lol It must have looked quite funny. I went inside ( where my dogs were going absolutely Wild, they must have known something. one was barking nonstop and the other kept runing around me and in cirles lols) went to the bathroom and the water look basicly clear but pinkish. I called the dr and one of them called me back but it wasnt the one I always see. She said normally I would tell you to stay home until your contractions are cosistantly 5 to 10 mins apart but since you are so far away maybe you should come now unless your husband feel comfortable deliveing the baby himself on 80. lol. She said she would call the hospital and tell them we were coming. I went and got changed . I put on a skirt insted of pants and got the baby bag together , because I had done mine but I forgot about the baby diaper bag until then. My hubby started getting a bit nervous I think he was afraid we werent going to make it or something I think the Dr didnt help that with her comment. lol
We finally got int the car and left between 8:30 and 8:45 pm and off we went. I was getting some contractions but nothing reaaly bad and I didnt want to worry him any more so I kept telling him I`m fine, it`s ok, you dont have to rush. he looked at the gas gauge and was happy because I had filled the tank on the was home and we didnt have to stop. lol. I sat and did some deep slow relaxing breathing as the contractions came and went and was whatching the clock they were 10 mins apart but I didnt want to tell him. lol they didnt hurt That bad and the baby still felt pretty high ya know not like he was coming out or anything. So we get down but Rt 3 and It is closed down to 1 land for you guessed it CONSTRUCTION! LOL so now I am still telling him I`m fine and we will make it there without a problem and stuff but he is start to get worried so he starts looking for a cop you know how they always sit there by the construction. so he see one and falgs him down and say ` my wifes water broke and we are trying to get to the hospital!` The cop goes ` your wife water broke!?! how far down do you have to go!?!` he told him to the end of Rt 3 !` I was sooo embarassed! We werent on the way to the hospital yet we had to drop the kids by my Moms first but we didnt tel Him that. lol He said ` follow me!` My husband thought this was like the greatest thing! I as I said was very embarassed. lol My Hubby said ` This is GREAT I can speed and I cant even get pulled over LOL!` well we got to the end of Rt 3 and wave buy to the cop. a few min later we were at my moms house dropping off the kids.
Off to the hospital we go. by the time we get there it is midnight.. we went to the lobby but it was locked so we had to go into emergency. My hubby went in as I sat in the car and they came out with a stretcher. They wheeled me into check to make sure the head wasnt coming out because they said they had just deliviered a baby in the elevator not to long ago. lol
I was brought upstairs to the labor room where I then had to change into the hospital gown. they put the monitors on me and put in an IV. they doctor came ( not my regular one) and she checked me to see how far I was. I was still Closed and soft can you believe it. lol So as I was lying in the bed with my eyes closed ( so couldnt tell you the times for a while but I did get up to go to the bathroom about every hour.) I would imagine the baby coming down and my cervix opening as I did the deep slow breathing. When morning came at about 8am I think I asked for the epi. they cahecked me and I was still CLOSED AND SOFT. I was like you are kiddig right? They ordered the epi and they finally came in at about 9:30 am because they had to do someone else first. I dont know if I should tell you this part for the ladies that were going to get epi`s but the dr tried 5 TImes with the 2 parts (they pinch and burn part and then the other) while I was sitting up and then they had me lay on my side so she could try it that way. she was killing me and I was having contractiond pretty dang close together now. I didnt ever expierience this problem with an epi before with either of my children. it was 1,2 3. I dont thing this one was very good. Later my hubby told me they made him go down to the waiting room insted of just being outside the door so that just tells me something wasnt totally right ( and now I havea nasty bruise on my back that it pretty sore). Anyway she Finally got it in and right as she left they checked me again. I was at 8cm then they said wait the baby`s head is right there. so they ran and got the dr and she said ok next contraction we push. So the next contraction I pushed and the head came out , still the same contraction I pushed again and the shoulders came out vertically ( ouch he ripped me a bit) the did one mor little push and he was out. They said it was all one contraction. For some reason they were all talking about it as I later found out because they would bring up ` oh you are the one that had him out in one contraction`. Well It was 11:13 am ( hubby and I thought that was funny because are anniversary is nov. 13 we will be together for 20 years this year ! :D ) He was 7 lbs. 4 ozs. and 20 ins long. We are sooo happy!
We took a few pic before they took him to clean him up right after the birth I will see if I can get them up. I have to charge my camera battery.

We have been home for a few day and Ayden is a week old today! We had his first Dr appt yesterday and he has to go back next week. He is 7 lbs 3 ozs as of the appt and his dr just want to check to make sure he is still gaining.
