On the 3rd of June, Warwick & I went into St Georges for me to get induced, (I was already 2cm dilated tho) they put in the gel and let me lie down for an hour, after that they chased us out the ward and told us to come back in 3 hours. We went for breakfast at the hospital restaurant, I started having contractions quite soon, but felt good. We then walked around the park opposite the hospital, by that stage, the pain was getting quite intense, I had to stop walking and hunch over for a few minutes until it abated.

At 12h00 we went back to the labour ward, I was then 4cm dilated and they asked if I wanted an epidural, I still felt ok, but they advised calling a doc so long, as it could take a while. Well within half an hour, I was in agony (they say induction pain is chronic due to speeding up the labouring process). The anethaetist only arrived at 14h00, by this stage I was curled up in a ball in agony! He gave me the epidural, but had to top it up 3 times before it worked, although I still had pain on my right side. Once it kicked in the relief was tremendous.

I had a hour and a half sleep and then woke up as I felt things had changed slightly. The midwife came in and we started pushing, the gynae came in at 16h00, and I pushed a few times and by 17h00, Tayla was here. It was an amazing spiritual experience, Warwick and I both cried. Cant believe I'm a mommy!!
