Well well well... trust me to have an eventful birth story hey!

I went into hospital on Friday 24 October for bleeding. Was told it was normal and that they would strip my membranes (sweep) as i was due the following day.

I was `swept` and was told that i was at 3cm already. Felt quite positive and left the hospital feeling pleased that things were moving in the right direction!

I was cramping and had my bloody show straight away at the hospital and things stayed like that for the rest of Friday. Woke up saturday morning (my due date) feeling absolutley fine! no cramps, pains, show ... nothing! was so dissapointed and was so certain that i was going into week 41! lol. I went to the mall with my girlfriend shopping and was cramping now and again but nothing major!! When i got into her car, i felt a trickle and was sure it was my waters as i didnt feel like i had wet myself! lol
I rang the hospital and they said to come in in a few hours to just get checked to see if they had gone. We got to the hospital and they confirmed that my waters had gone. i wasnt in labour so was sent home and told to come back when contractions are five minutes apart and PAINFUL! If labour didnt start on its own then I was told i would get induced monday morning due to the risk of infection.

Anyways, got home from hospital saturday evening around 6pm ish and settled down to watch X-Factor lol. Felt a bit crampy still so I asked Jay to run me a bath and make me a cup of raspberry leaf tea. Did all that, got p.j`d up and sat down on the sofa. Jay dissapeared to make me a sarnie and i suddenly had this massive loud cracking noise inside me - never been so scared in my life! i honestly thought the baby had snapped her neck in my pelvis! ... oh no, it was my bag of waters rupturing properly! i must have just been leaking earlier in the day. I ran straight upstairs to the loo cuz i didnt know what was going on and realised it was my waters. Shouted down to jay who came up and said try not to worry - easier said than done.

It was all very quick from then on. This was about 10:45pm and after my bag ruptured, i was instantly contracting at 5mins apart! PAINFUL too! rang hospital, told me to carry on at home as long as i could before i came in! grrrrrrrrrrr... anyway, i was then throwing up violently and started to get worried although I had heard that ppl were sick during labour. I then needed a poo..which turned into pooing and puking into a bucket at the same time. I started to feel so much pressure in my bum and had an urge to push! i rang the hospital to tell them again and they were worried as i was wanting to push just 30 mins after spking to them just before! I was then bleeding and didnt know what was going on. It was so painful. they told me to come in asap... by this point i was contracting 2mins apart and was convinced I was going to be delivering the baby in my bathroom! struggled like hell to get into the car and stay still in the car (jay driving obviously) and to walk intot he hospital. Contractions were coming thick and thin at this point and i was sent straight to a room when we got into L&D. I was examined by a midwife, told her i kept wanting to push, she told me to try not to but it was hard. After examination she confirmed that i was already 8.5cm dilated which is why i felt the need to push! i was soooo shocked! and was screaming for pain relief cuz it was so painful! got me kit off, hopped onto the bed (ok its how i remember it anyway lol) and started sucking on the gas and air straight away - marvelous stuff! I went from 8.5cm at Midnight to 10cm - fully dilated - in one hour!!!! i was then pleased i could get stuck into pushing after wanting to for soooo long!

I pushed for two hours ... and it did hurt ladies but nothing you cant deal with or handle. The worst thing for me was when her head was crowning - the burning, stinging pain in between the contractions is what made me uncomfortable but again, i was sucking on that gas so hard! lol I gave a long hard push and out popped her head... was told to pant so was panting, then pushed some more and the cord was round her neck - midwife quickly sorted that out for me and i pushed once more ( a little too eager might i add!) and out she popped! it was amazing!!!! i looked down and there she was - her big eyes staring at me!! She was perfect - nothing wrong with her and she weighed 8lb 3oz!! HUGEGIO! lol, considering iw as told she was 6lb 3oz 2 weeks before delivery! lol

I had a 2nd degree tear and tore either side on labia...which is painful and im very very soar at the moment. Worse thing is urinating as it burns ... got my painkillers though!

I was so wanting to breastfeed, she fed ok for her first two feeds but then she sucked too ahrd and made my nipples crack and bleed so i couldnt carry on :-( .. shes now being bottlefed but its ok. I love her so so so so much i cant explain.
Its very surreal cuz i dont feel like a mum - but i do at the same time. I look at her and feel like shes been mine forever. Totally gorgeous :-) shes my angel

I just wish someone would have warned me how soar and uncomfy i would be after delivvery cuz i wasnt prepared for that - or all of the bleeding. never realised just how HEAVY it is! i have to change every hour at least and i lost hardly any blood and my tears were apparently not even bad!

Jay was amazing throughout labour - very supportive and so good! he said he feels differently now and loves me more than he ever could :-) - hes changed so quickly and is a very proud dad. Im very proud of him and love him to pieces. Im extactic about our future together with our little girlie... love you all ladies! :-)

I had the injection for hte placenta to come quicker which it did - bout 5 mins. Baby summer had Vitamin K injection. Shes perfect! ladies ... good luck to you all whos still prego ... i would do it all again!! ... just not for a few years! lol :-)
