Well,during the last weeks of my pregnancy,i would usually go to sleep between 2-3a.m.(at this point i was already 40 wks./4 dys.),but on thursday november 20,i started feeling very weird around 11p.m..I felt nauseated,dizzy & hot.So i told my husband i was going to lay down already and even he was like"this early"?We went to sleep and i still got up like every 2 hours to pee.At 5:30a.m. i got up to pee and as soon as i sat on the toilet,fluid started to come out without me trying.Then i peed,wiped myself,and as soon as i stood up to pick up my bottoms,3 streams of fluid started running down my legs.I'm thinking "Oh my God,is this my water breaking"?I woke up my husband and told him i thought my water was breaking.So i tried to go back to sleep and see if anything else would happen,i started feeling menstrual-like cramps and everytime i got up,i would get wet.I called my doctor's office and told them what had been happening,so they told me to go ahead and go into the hospital.We got to the hospital around 10a.m.First i was examined at around10:30a.m. and i was 2 cm. dialated and the amniotic sac had a slow leak so they decided to keep me.I got into a L&D room around 12p.m.My contractions were 7-8min. apart and pretty painful.My doctor got there,she broke the bags of water completely and started me on pitocin to get my contractions going.I was checked again at around 1p.m. and was 3cm. and my contractions were 4-5 min. apart and more intense.The nurse asked if i wanted the epidural already and i said yes.I got the epidural(which did hurt a little)and 10 min. later,i was on 'cloud 9'.It is the most weirdest feeling in the world!Around 7p.m. i was 6-7 cm.Then at 9:30p.m. i was 10 cm.!I was feeling major rectal pressure with each contraction that came.I started pushing & pushing & pushing and had no idea that the pressure would hurt the way it did!I pushed for about an hour and a half.I was thirsty & tired!I ate ice chips between every contraction.Each one was about 20 seconds apart.Towards the end i could'nt take it.I could feel her head crowning and would have to stop after 4 pushes.I was crying and saying "i can't do it" but everyone was rooting me on including my mom & husband.She just did'nt want to come out.I had an episiotomy done & had to use a vacuum and 4 pushes later at 10:59p.m. our precious daughter Araceli was born!(let me mention she also tore me)At that point,everything seemed cloudy to me and all i remember hearing was "our daughter is here" followed by my daughter crying,which was amazing!There are just no words to describe what an intense feeling giving birth is like and to describe what a unique LOVE you instantly have for your child,you will never love anyone or anything more in your life.Now i know what everyone was talking about.I LOVE BEING A MOTHER...
