Adrian-Zantate-Stringer`s birthstory
Well I really started having contractions late Friday night. But they were happening in my back so I just thought it was back pain so I ignored it. My bf had disappointed me once again cause he didnt move up here like he said he was that day. My contractions started getting stronger as the night progressed so I assumed that maybe my baby was `sunny side up` and started writing down how far they were apart. They were 10 min apart. Eventually I got a slight bit of sleep and woke just in time for my boyfriend to call me and tell me he was at the bus stop and was on his way up here. He arrived around 1:30p and I picked him up. He had a few items for the baby and a late Valentine`s gift. We went and got something to eat. I told him about the contractions which by then were happening more frequently and very very painful. But I didnt wanna go to the hospital cause my doctor had just told me that Wed. that I wasnt dialated or effaced at all and that she didnt think Adrian was ready to come out. I agreed with her cause I wasnt having any labor signs. They even hooked me up to a machine to see if I was having contractions and didnt know it. It was negative for contractions. Anyway as the day got later my contractions were begining to become unbearrable and I was starting to bleed. So I called my doctor and she told me to go in, she didnt really think they were giong to keep me though. I didnt either. Well I got to the triage room and they checked me and to my surprise I was 2 centimeters dialated. I know thats not alot but remember, a few days ago there was no hope of dialation. So anyway they told me to walk around for an hour and so me and my bf walked around until we got lost. We had to ask a police officer how to get back. When I got back I was at a 3. But I was in so much pain. They told me to walk around for another hour but I was like I couldnt do it. So she let me sit there for an hour instead. When she came back in she said that she needed a uring sample cause my blood pressure was high so she put a catheter in me and that was the worst feeling in the world. I cried. So after that was over. She said they were admitting me. I was happy. They moved me and Clyde to the delivery suite, which was very nice. My contractions were coming on strong but I still wasnt at a 4 so they couldnt get me an epidural. They did however give me some medicine to help me sleep. But it only made me sleep between contractions not through them, so I still felkt complete pain. Finally they decided to put me on pitocin to speed things up. I was so afraid cause I heard how it makes your contractions even stronger but what could I do? By that time my mom had arrived so Clyde had fell asleep cause he was tired from the long bus ride and my mom was there to help me through the pain. Even though I love her for that and I wouldnt have had it any other way, the truth is there was nothing anybody could do to help. I was screaming and crying through the contractions. I was literally ready to beg for a gun or at least a c-section. Well finally my personal doctor arrived and they decided to give me the epidural and increase the pitocin. After that I was in complete heaven. Within minutes I could feel a thing. It was awesome. I slept through the next couple of hours with no pain. They even incerted another catheter cause they said I wouldnt even feel the urge to pee. I didnt believe that was possible but it was true. I couldnt even feel it when they were checking to see if I was progressing. After about 2-3 hours of great rest, I started to feel like I had to booboo but ofcourse it didnt hurt and I knew that it was just the pressure of the baby`s head so I ignored it which was easy to do since I was drugged up. About 15 minutes later the nurse came in the check me and she was like ` Girl I cant believe your baby hasnt fell out yet,. it time to push`. So they called the dotor back and I called my mom back to the hospital. They woke up Clyde and got the room ready. They told me to push, I was pushing but I couldnt feel myself pushing at all. It was great. After about 8 pushes he was out and screaming with his eyes wide open. Clyde cut the cord and it was over. My doc pulled the placenta out and I thought I was going to have to get stiches but she said I didnt even tear. Adrian was so little and tiny bit with a good set of lungs. Clyde went up with them to check him and give him a bath and they moved me and my room to the recovery suite. Which was also vey nice. Soon after that they bought Adrian in. We stayed at the hospital for about 3 in a half days though cause Adrian wasnt eating right which was causing him to become dehydrated and he could pee. So they ran some test and found out nothing was wrong, he just wasnt hungry. After a while he started eating and peeing and they released us that Tuesday. Clyde stayed by my side the whole time,. I was so happy. Now we are just hanging at my house everyday and arguing over who gets to hold our beautiful son. Oh by the way Clyde never once hesitated to name him Adrian Zantate Stringer.
