Zachary-Micheal`s birthstory

Brandon, my mom and I went to my brothers to have Thanksgiving dinner with the whole family. Everything was going beautifully.. family was mingling, talking, laughing, eating, and of course, watching football and playing guitar hero 3. After dinner, around 7pm, I started to feel slight period like cramps every so often. I didnt think much of them, but I let my sister and Mom know.. Everyone had joked if I broke my water on the carpet, we got the steam cleaner on hand! They started to come closer together, a little more painful, but totally bearable. I can walk, talk and even laugh through these `cramps` I was having. I told my Mom and Brandon it was probaly time to go, just in case.. We left and headed to my Mom`s house. We timed the contractions in the car, and it was like clockwork. I would have a 30-45 second contraction every 2-3 minutes. We finally got to my Mom`s house, and as we timed them, I went to fix my Mom`s internet. Yeah- I was totally trying to connect to the internet while in labor, haha. We timed them for another 30 minutes, and by the time that 30 minutes was up, I was in PAIN. We called the hospital to let them know we were coming! We got there about right at 9pm. They admitted me into Triage and I got checked. I was 6cm with a buldging bag of water! I was going to have this baby! At around 10-10:30 pm I got a room in L&D. It was possibly the worst pain i`ve ever experienced in my life. I got my epidural shortly after, and was very surprised at how painless the procedure was. I was in heaven afterwards!!! Shortly after the epidural, Zachary`s heartrate started to decel really low.. Doctors were coming in left and right, telling me to move this way, move that way, put this oxygen mask on.. Nothing worked. Apparently, I was having a contraction that NEVER ended.. Zachary wasnt taking it very well. They gave me a shot to slow my contractions and space them out. Zachary was happy after that.. Poor Brandon`s face was white as a ghost staring at the fetal monitor screen the WHOLE time! My nurse told me we were going to start `practice pushing`. We practiced pushed for about a little less than a hour until Zachary`s head crowned. She called the doctors in and shortly after at 1:25am, Zachary Michael was born! Brandon looked like a deer in headlights, yet so fascinated. My Mom was in so much joy as they set Zachary on my chest and I helped clean him off. He was 7lb 7oz, 20.5 inches long, and had Apgar scores of 9 and 9! Doctors were SO pleased with this baby.. I was in the hospital less than 48 hours since Zachary was so healthy, and everything was PERFECT. I couldnt have asked for a better birth experience and a better baby. He is truely a miracle..
