Poppy-Jane-`s birthstory

So my birth story...... Are you sitting comfortably than I will begin

6.30 am on Saturday 1st November 2008 (my due date) my waters broke, I was just too excited but a little frightened as there was blood in the water so I rand my local L & D who said they were too busy to see me at that point and told me to call again at 7.30 am.

7.30pm I called again and was told to come in, but expect a wait. At 9.30 we were finally seen, everything was fine my labour was not active and I should go home and relax. Ok so I’m fine I’d much rather be at home anyway.

But by 9pm I have had enough my contractions are all over the place and I show no signs of active labour.

(10.30pm not to be out done Cherrish falls down stairs and real hurts her foot, can’t put weight any weight on it and is in tears)

12 am my contractions have been every 5 mins for an hour (woohoo) I called L & D and I am on my way. We arrived and were assessed, I’m only at 3cm dilated we could be waiting some time.....

Labour is not moving very well and at 12.30pm we decide to accept an oxitocin drip to push things along......

2pm oh my god this hurts... time for the drugs.... what no drugs...what do you mean she’s coming.... oh no I can’t do this...... please don’t make me.....

2.20pm Poppy Jane arrives along with 3 further midwifes and 2 doctors, I’m in raptures with my baby I cannot take my eyes off her for god sakes why is everyone faffing about at my down stairs area and why are they covered in blood from head to foot????????

Off to surgery for me I have an arterial bleed (lost 1000ml) and a 3rd degree tear from my vaginal canal through my anal sphincter

It was so hard to leave Poppy and Peter

5.30 I’m finally back with Peter and Poppy I’m so lucky!!!!! & at 7pm Cherrish joins us

Wow my family is amazing!!!!!

(Cherrish has badly bruised her foot and is on crutches)

Sunday: Due to the severe blood loss my count is 8.7

Monday: I can’t go home as my blood count is 7.5

Tuesday: I still can’t go home my blood count is 6.2 at 4 I will put too much pressure on my heart... time for a blood transfusion 2 units.....

Wednesday: My bloods up to 10.7 Poppy and I can go home woohoo!!!!!!!
