Well I went in the hospital November 8, 2007 to have my water broke. They broke it at 10am and by 12 there was no sign of labor. At about 12:30 they started me on the oxytocin drip and come 1pm I was having contraction 6 mins apart. Before I knew it the contractions were non-stop. I then asked for the epidural, and in the same sentance screamed that I had to push... The nurse ran to check my cervix and I was eight cm....`NO TIME!` she screamed and then paged for the Dr. Before he even got in the room I was bearing down with small pushes..I couldn`t help myself. There was a feeling of tremendous pressure, not pain. The only pain was the never ending contraction and the not bwing able to take a nice deep breath. When the Dr. was ready It took everything I had to listen to what he was saying. I believe I screamed I couldn`t do it... then `OH F#*$`... with the nurse replying `thats what got you here in the first place` as much as I wanted to laugh, I couldn`t. 5 pushes and my baby was here... my body shaking, tears rolling down my face... I was so proud that I had done it, and Natural. I always said the only way it would happen was if I had no choice. In a 53 minute labor and delivery... there was deinatly no choice. Ican say though that when you go natural the swelling and pain is so much more bareable.... better to relax! Good Luck everyone and thanks to all for everything!

HEY THERE EVERYONE!!! Travis is now eating some cereal in the evenings and has been sleeping 10-12 hours a night for about a month now... 4 months old already WOW!! anyways when I was prego with Travis they nticed at about 18weeks that he had an inlarged kidnet which I guess was caused by a blockage in his uriters (tubes which empty kidney to bladder). they kept and eye on it with ultrasounds monthly and Feb 22 2008 they did an ultrasound on him... so in his third month. They tell me nothing has changed thus far and I now have to go and see a paediatric urologist and he may need surgery to open the ureter or to place a tube in there... I guess I will find out more when I get to the new Dr in May. Seems so far away but I have been told things will work out and that its better they found this problem as early as they have. The condition is called Hydronephrosis if anyone has heard of it or experienced it I would love your info and comments THANKS

Koen-Jozef-de-Bruyn`s birthstory

Thursday I went to the Dr and was expecting to get an internal and find out date of induction but the Dr just did the usual and I was pissed. I went home that day and cleaned my entire house AGAIN!!! lol Hubby came home half way throught he day so sick that he ended up going up to the hospital to find out he had food poisioning and was very dehydrated. My mom stayed at my house with me until he got home at 2am sept. 5th.... then he drove her home. While he was driving her home I came up to bed to FINALLY get a good night rest, knowing he was ok and it wasn`t his diabetes making him so sick. Once I layed in the bed at 2:30am I felt a weird pop in my butt area and SURE SHIT... my water had broke! I was home withthe two kids alone and rushed to call hubby all the while getting my nearly 3 year old daughter to the potty to pee. I called him on the cell and told him, he was a block from getting back home. I then called my mom who I had to conviince that I wasn`t kidding before she called a cab and headed over.... meanwhile Todd was getting in the house! I had no contractions whatsoever but was freaking cause the last one, as some of you may know, got here in 53 mins. I then decided to let Todd stay home with hte kids and wait for my mom to get here while I went to the hospital in an ambulance. I got to the hospital with mild contractions and the ambulance people said they were every 4mins and lasting about 40 seconds long. At 2:50 they checked my cervix and I was already 8cm.... they then told me that 99% chance of me getting no meds if I wanted them... but like I said there wasn`t much pain at this point... which was weird! I then got taken into the delieery room where I layed there with contractions getting stronger by the minute, but was able to breath through the pain and relax. I had a lot of pressure and kept thinking it was time to push but it was just a stupid bowel movement getting in my way (LMAO) FINALLY Todd arrived and there I was just seconds from hitting 10cm. Once I hit 10 I knew it as I felt the increase in pressure and the spontanious urge to push to where you can`t help but push... this was at 4:20am that I hit 10cm and by 4:24 I had my son in my arms and ready for the world!!! It was a bit intense, but all worth the natural labor I had oh so wished to have again!! He came out at 37weeks + 1day September 5th, 2008 weight only 6lbs and 1oz. It is now September 6th and I am already home with Koen Jozef de Bruyn and nursing better then the last two and I am loving every minute of it! I wish you all the best and can`t wait to talk to you all in the up coming days... mind you it may take a bit seeing as I have three under three here and as many of you know a busy weekend (some of you knew I wanted to wait but in my case there was no waiting!!)
