Dominic-Andrew-Gordon`s birthstory
I was admitted to the hospital on wednesday (again) because my cervix had shortened again. On friday I began having contractions that were five minutes apart and pretty painful. The doctor checked me and found that I was effaced 80% (from 50%) and was dilated 1cm so she sent me down to L&D. Down at L&D they gave me magnesium sulfate to stop my contractions and it worked. My contractions stopped that evening. I was still the same as far as my stats were (80% effaced and dilated to 1cm). Well, I woke up Saturday morning and the same thing happened. This time though, the contractions stopped and I began feeling this ridiculous pain down low. It felt like the baby was trying to push through my cervix! I called in the nurse who called in the doctor and she checked me out. Come to find out, I was dilated to 5cm and the amniotic sac was bulging through which is what was causing the pressure and pain. Well, because the baby was early and completely breech, this was not a good thing so they rushed me in for an emergency c-section before he decided to come out on his own! Well, the c-section was going fine until my impatient son decided suddenly that he no longer wanted to come out! They had to make an additional vertical cut into my muscles in order to find him and get him out. At 9:52am my tiny son was born, a bit bruised from all the roughness, but otherwise ok. I was a mom again, and boy was I thrilled!
