Peter-John-MacMillan-Jr`s birthstory
Peter John MacMillan Jr was born 4 months early due to my developement of incompetent cervix. The staff at Albany Medical center, in Albany NY, were unwilling to attempt to perserve his life due to my baby only being 21 weeks at that time. Peter Jr was a vaginal delivery, my first, and was born with a heartrate of a little over 100bpm, and was trying to breath. Our little angel is with us now, forever in out hearts. Though it breaks my heart to know that it was my body that gave up on this little miracle, I'm trying to find comfort in the fact that we now have an angel looking out for us. And though our arms are empty, our hearts are full.

We went to my 40wk appt which was an ultrasound, NST, and vaginal exam. The ultrasound and NST were perfect, the vaginal exam showed that I was 4cm and about 75% effaced. I asked my Dr what do we do now? He said that I could make an appt for next week, or he could admit me to the hospital, break my waters, and see where we go from there. So after talking with my fiance, we agreed to go to the hospital to get the ball rolling. Well at around 230 that afternoon, my water was broken, and I started having mild contractions that I couldn't feel. A few hrs later the contractions were getting worse, my cervix was dilating, but the baby wasn't dropping. At around midnight that night, I couldn't take the pain anymore, so I asked for the epidural. 4 tries later, the epidural was in. All night long the contractions were steady, but the baby wasn't dropping. At about 1pm the next afternoon, the Dr had me do an hr of active pushing to get the baby to drop. After that hr, the baby still hadn't changed position, her heartbeat had been up for awhile, and my fever wasn't breaking. So the decision was made to do a c section. Heather was born at 225pm. A beautiful baby girl, that I never knew, could have such an impact on my life. I never knew love like this before!!!
