Genevieve Anne`s birthstory

Well, my birthday is October 22nd and my family took me out to dinner for my birthday on Monday, the 22nd. So everything was fine, I was feeling kind of crampy on Monday, but just assumed she was moving around down there. And I think I lost my mucus on Monday. So anyway, I went to bed Monday night and got up as usual to go to the bathroom a couple times. So I went to the bathroom around 3:50am and when I was crawling back into bed, I felt a little `pop` and then a little gush of fluid come out. So I ran back to the bathroom and every time I stood up some more clear fluid would come out. So I woke my husband up and told him that I thought my water had broken. He jumped up and we had to pack my bags because this was all happening 2 weeks early. So I called my doctor and she told me to go to the hospital. It was so cute...we pulled up to the ER entrance and my husband ran in saying `my wife is in labor`. It felt like we were in a movie. So they wheeled my up to the L&D floor. They checked me around 7:00am and I was already 3-4 centimeters dilated. Now at this point, I still wasn`t feeling so bad...not too much pain or anything. So a little bit after she checked me, it got really painful. So I asked for an epidural. Let me just tell you that the epidural is the greatest thing in the world. I couldn`t feel anything after that. So they checked me again around 12:00 pm and I was 5-6 centimeters dilated. They had given me pitocin to speed thing up a little. Around 1:00pm, I was starting to feel the contractions again, so I asked the nurse for more of the epidural and she told me she had to check me first to see how far along we were. So she checked me and, low and behold, I was 10 centimeters....I was like...already!!!!!! So, I started pushing....one hour later out she popped. And she literally popped out. She came flying out. I was crying...She is so beautiful...I can`t believe I am a Mom!!!

Harrison Phillip`s birthstory

I was kind of crampy all day on Saturday the 15th and just figured it was nothing. Well around 9:30 that night my "cramps" started getting more regular. So I started timing them. They were about 10 mins apart. My husband was at work and my daughter was over my parents house so I was home alone. So around 10:30, my contractions were getting closer together and now my husband was on his way home. So I called my mom and asked her to keep my daughter over night. Around 11:30, my contractions were about 5 mins. apart. I called my doctor, which is an answering service at this time of night and the call would not go through..so I wasn't sure what to do..turns out the answering service was having technical problems..real great!!!! I Know!! So I called the Labor and Delivery department of my hospital and spoke to a nurse and she told me to come in. At 12:30, my husband and I went to the hospital and they check my and I was 6 centimeters dialated...I was shocked I was so far along already!!! I tried to hols out on getting the epidural..just to see if I could do...well forget about that...At 8 centimeters I got an epidural and I was feeling good. Around 5:30am they check me and I was fully dialated. Time to push. I started pushing at 5:50am and out he came at 6:11am. They told me it was going to take me a while to push him out because he was still really high up. Well, I guess I proved them wrong. Once I got the hang of pushing..there was no stoping me. He came out weighing 9lbs. 7ozs and 20.5 inches long...which sounds pretty big. But I don't think he looks too big...He is just such a sweet little baby!!!
