Travis-Don-Gray`s birthstory

Friday October 17 I went to the doctor for my weekly check up. I was 2 cm dilated. The doctor and I joked about when I wanted to have the baby. She told me she would be out all next week but she`s on call at the hospital this weekend Sat 8am to Sun 8am. When I asked her how can I have my baby this weekend she said yes if I sweep your membranes, but it`ll hurt. So I told her lets do it anyway. After I left her office I went to get my hair done. One of the ladies told me when her doctor swept her membranes she went into labor that night. I felt him move the whole time I was at the beauty shop. Later that night I had dinner and went to sleep. As I tosed and turned I noticed that my belly was still hard. So on the way to the bed I had a cup of juice. Not paying it too much attention I went back to sleep. When I got up again I realized that he hadn`t moved. So I drunk a glass of ice water and layed on my side to do the kick count. Well, he didn`t move within the 1 hour span. My fiance thought I was just mistaking. (LADIES KNOW YOUR BODY AND YOUR INSTINCT AND DO WHAT YOU FEEL IS BEST) So I called the doctor and told her what was going on. She too tried to play it down by telling me that the baby could be sleep. When she realized that I was serious and it was going on 2 hours with no movement she told me to come in. I get to the hospital and we go to the labor and delivery room. After hooking me up to the monitor the nurse saw I was in labor having contractions. She thought that I just needed to drink fluids and ice to wake the baby up. Well, Travis heart was funny and he still didn`t move. So she broke my water and the contractions got worse. Then all of a sudden my baby`s heart slowed down. So she looked at me and told me it`s best that we do a c-section because she doesn`t know why his heart slowed and she didn`t want to take a chance. So off to the delivery I go. I had a c-section. When they delivered the baby I got a chance to see him for a second. I was so sleepy that I went to sleep when they delivered him and I woke up in the Recovery Room. I tried to move my legs but they wouldn`t move. I thought they cut off my leg, but I was just numed from the c-section. My baby got moved to the NICU because he was breathing too fast. They said it was because of the c-section, he didn`t have a chance to have the fluid squeezed out of him like the birth canal would do. I felt sad because they haven`t allowed him to come to my room. They haven`t fed him yet because he can`t handle food and breathing fast at the same time. I am only allowed to have 4 visitors to see him (Efren & I don`t count as one of the 4) but the names on the list cannot change. Hopefully my little man will be better soon. Other than that,, we`re ok.
