Brief Birth Story

We had a scheduled C-Section on Nov. 29. Everything went as smoothly as possible and she arrived at 11:56 am. She was healthy and had no complications. The only reason we had to have a C-Section was due to the fact she was breech. I am very blessed with a happy, healthy little girl!

Since 2 wks old she has been able to lift her head briefly and turn it from side to side. She is a wonderful baby who never cries. She likes to be held sometimes but she would rather sit in her bouncer or glider.

At 4 wks, she is able to role from back to side to front occasionally. It takes her time but she is able to complete it on her own. She is currently eating 4 ounces every 3-4 hours during the day and goes 4-6 hours at night. She currently sleeps on her stomach at night b/c she absolutely refuses to sleep any other way. If you put her to sleep on her stomach, by the time you wake up she will be on her stomach. I guess this is what she really likes. However, she is fully capable of lifting her head and turn it from side to side.

Meredith is currently 5 wks old. She went to the doctor today and now weighs 9 lbs 7 ozs and was 21 1/4 inches long. She has gained almost three pounds and grown 1 and 1/4 inches since she left the hospital. Last night I feed her and put her to be at 10:00 and she slept straight through the night and woke up at 5:30. I woke up a couple of times through the night and jumped up to make sure she was still breathing. I can't believe how much she is a happy baby. I cannot honestly complain. She likes to put herself to sleep, she never cries, loves her bouncer, glider, and swing, and is a joy to take out to places. She loves to look out the car window as we are traveling down the road while she listens to the music on the radio.

Meredith is now 7 wks old and progressing excellently. She sleeps on her stomach at all times now. She has been sleeping all night everynight since 5 1/2 wks old. She takes a bath at 9:00, eats 5 ozs at 9:30, and is asleep for the night at 10:00. She then sleeps till between 5:00 and 7:00. She doesn't like to be rocked to sleep though, she would rather you just lay her on her belly, give her her "nukki" and let her self sooth herself to sleep. She hardly ever cries. She is a good baby. Sometimes she tends to get fussy in the evening times but this is b/c she doesn't like to nap during the day. I think she is afraid she going to miss something. She usually only takes one 3 hour nap during the day. She will cat nap 15 to 20 minutes here and there but they don't really help. She loves to eat. She eats 4 to 5 ozs every 2 to 4 hours during the day. But I think she is just making up for what she doesn't eat during the night! I hope in the future my children will be as good and blessed as Meredith is.
