Johannes`s birthstory

My little mans arrival started on October 11th. I had some mild contractions and started to bleed a bit. But it kinda stopped again, so i didn`t think much of it, since the due date was three weeks away. But i called the hospital anyway, and they said i could come in just to have a check up. It turned out i was 1 cm dilated. I was thrilled! But the mw said it could still be weeks before he decided to come out. We went back home to get some sleep. Exactly 4 hours later the water broke, 6 am october the 12th. I startet having contractions right away, but not very strong ones. 4 hours later we were back at the hospital, ant the contractions were getting more powerful, and quite effective. The whole opening phase went well, and i didn`t receive more pain relief than this particular gas mixed with oxygen. To me it was very helpful. 9 pm i was 10 cm dilated, and ready to push him out. But then the contractions kinda wore off, and i didn`t have the strength to push him out without them. They checked my little man regularly, and he was doin` just fine, so they just wanted to wait it out to see if the contraction would get more effective again. I found this stage of the whole experience the most frustrating one. I was totally worn out, and my hips were aching like crazy. (Because of a condition i`ve had for two years). After three hours they decided they wanted to help him out with the vacuum cup (or whatever it`s called). That was a pretty intense experience! But finally... my little boy came out.. healthy and good lookin`! I had to be stitched up afterward, which was quite painful, but i was just so happy he didn`t need any support with his bloodsugar levels! Now i received my reward for my very tight diet during the last three months of my pregnancy. My diabetes hadn`t affected him at all!
Now he`s three weeks old and doin` good. I had to bottle feed him the first two weeks, cause my nipples couldn`t handle breastfeeding. But now things is getting better, and i love, even though it hurts like crazy, to nurse my baby. He is so beautiful, and is well worth the nine years we waited for him!
