Anna-Elisabeth`s birthstory

Contractions began early on Wednesday August 20th. Went to the hospital where they broke my water (I was 4cm dilated and 75% effaced). The contractions got pretty intense pretty quickly and I got the epidural when they were about 2-3 minutes apart. At around 3pm I was fully dilated and started pushing. When the doctor came in to check me after some very ineffective pushing (they had to lower the epidural--it worked way too well) so I could feel pressure, she changed her mind and felt that there were still portions of my cervix that were thick. After several more hours and 5 minutes where they lost the heart rate, the doctor decided to perform a C-section. Anna ended up being very wedged in my pelvis and it was determined that I was too small to deliver her vaginally anyways and would probably not be able to have a vaginal birth in the future.
