Leiland-Jacoby`s birthstory

I arrived at the hospital at 6:00 am to be induced, they hooked me up to tons of machines and IV's to get things going. When the nurse checked me I was still only 3 cm and 50 % effaced, I was pretty mad that things hadn't changed since I had went to my last prenatal visit especially since this was my third child! The nurse came in and started the pitocin at 7:30 am, at first my contractions were coming every minute so the nurse had to come back in and turn the meds off until the contractions spaced apart to be every 2-3 minutes. Once my contractions were spaced out the nurse turned the machine back on and got things going again, the contractions started getting stronger and stronger so I thought "hey, maybe my cervix has changed". My doctor came in and checked me because I was in a lot of pain and wanted an epidural, I was still only 3 cm dilated and 50 % effaced! I was so angry and in a lot of pain. The nurse came in and gave me something called Stadol which kicked in quick and hard! I was sitting there talking to my husband, my mom, my kids, and my friend Kim and then out of nowhere I would be nodding out!! I didnt feel any contractions though so it was all good, I had to try fighting really hard to stay awake! My doctor came back in the room at 1:30 pm to check me again and break my water, so of corse to no suprise to me, my cervix hadn't changed! At this point I was really scared that I would end up having to have a C Section. My doctor decided to take my external contraction monitor off and place an internal monitor after she broke my water. I ended up loosing all of my fluid fast and the baby's heart rate was concerning my doctor so they had to place a tube inside of me to put fluids back inside my womb. An hour later my doctor checked me again and there was finally some change to my cervix, I was 4-5 cm dilated and 70 % effaced! I was so happy to hear that there was change, I finally got my epidural which only took to my left side so I still felt some of the pain from my labor. 40 minutes later my nurse came in and checked my progression and I was 6 cm dilated! Next thing you know, out of nowhere I started feeling a lot of pain down there when the contractions hit, my epidural had wore off!! I was screaming and crying in so much pain! My husband left the room to go get the nurse and she said "I'll go ahead and check you, even though we just got done checking you" she looked at me and said "Your, 10 cm dilated and 100 % effaced!" Everyone was shocked! I went from 6 cm to 10 cm in 12 minutes!! The nurse called the anesthesiologist into the room to try and give me some relief for the pain, she gave me two doses more of the epidural.... I knew that it wasn't gonna kick in, in time and of corse I was right! The pain was so bad but it felt so much better to push! I ended up pusing for about 8-10 minutes, next thing you know.... theres baby Leiland, finally!! He was so beautiful! I was shocked when they told me that he weighed 8 Lbs 12 Oz!! After delievering Leiland and the placenta, my epidural kicked in! I couldn't leave my room until I got all of the feeling back in my legs and at that point I was only numb in the left side! It took forever for the epidural to wear off, at one point I stood up and felt fine and thought that I'd be able to walk well next thing you know.... I fall! My left leg just gave out on me out of nowhere, good thing my husband caught me before I hit the ground! I laughed so hard, it was crazy!! This was such a long birth story, sorry but it was such a long labor!!

My sister in law also gave birth to her baby girl Skyler on the same day!! Everyone thought that we planned it lol!

After dinner on April 14th I went to use the bathroom and when I wiped I had noticed that I was having my bloody show!! I went into the living room and told my husband that Issac would be here soon, I didnt think that it would be within the next 24 hours though! My husband and I gave the kids a bath and then put them to bed, we decided that we were gonna hang out in the living room and watch some tv. My husband fell asleep on the couch because he was so tired from working that day. I`m a night owl so I didnt end up waking my husband up to go to bed until 1:00 A.M. I decided that I was gonna lay in bed and watch CSI:NY before I called it a night, about 10 minutes into the episode MY WATER BROKE!!!! This was the first time that my water had ever broke at home, as soon as I told my husband that my water broke he jumped up and started calling sitters for our other kids. He didnt know what to do, he was rushing around going crazy! We arrived to the hospital at 1:45 A.M. on Thursday morning April 15th, they hooked me up to my IV and monitors. My contractions werent starting, they gave me a few hours and still no contractions!! The nurse came in at 6:45 and started my pitocin. My contractions finally started and got very painful so I got an epidural at 8:26 A.M. as soon as my epidural kicked in the nurse came in and turned my pitocin up to an 8! The doctor came in and checked me and she said that my amniotic sac was right there and that it was only leaking so she ruptured it, she then said that the babys head was right there and that it was time to push!! The nurses told me to go ahead and push and then as soon as I pushed once the doctor told me to stop because she could see the babys head and she wasnt suited up. As soon as the doctor was suited up I pushed once and the babys head was out, I was told to stop pushing but with the next contraction Isaac decided that he didnt want to wait no more and then there he was, a healthy baby boy weighing in at 8 lbs. 2.4 oz. and 20 3/4` long!
