Darius-Deshan-Huggins`s birthstory
On 6/10/08 my husband and I woke up very happy knowing that we`d be seeing our son soon, so we got up early went to breakfast and took in an early movie before checking in the hospital at 4:00pm. Once we arrived I had to check in and get my cervix checked to see how far along I was, and I was only 1cm, so the doctors decided to admit me in. Hubby and I were excited even more because there was a possibility of me being sent home someone had said, but I guess they didn`t know how big my baby was and that it was time for him to come out. lol...
Maybe and hour or so later, the doctors thought they should try a safe way to help me dilate which was inserting a fully ball into me to soften my cervix, well after having that in for 15hrs I only dilated 2cm more, then I was put on a hormone called patocin. Now I thought that little ball in me hurted and made me feel irritated, this stuff was even worse, I was having contractions every two minutes back to back but wasn`t going in active labor, my body wasn`t letting it, so after being on that for another 9hrs I was really in pain, but making no progress, not to mention I was trying to fight off having an epidural, so I settle for morphine. omg did that stuff make me high. lol.. I did some crazy stuff my husband said. lol...
Hours later the doctor came in check my cervix again no progress...so she asked was I ready to give up. I said hun??? I have a choice? lol.. she said yeah a c-section, but you ain`t going home. lol... I thought she meant did I want to go home until he came on his own, but I couldn`t because my water had broke in the mist of the pain somewhere. So I talked to my husband about a c-section and he was all for it, he feels that it`s the best way anyway since there isn`t any pain until after wards. So I said yeah...and everyone was getting ready! They said OK....in 2 hrs we`ll start. I took those two hours to mentally prepare myself for that needle in my back that I said I would never get. lol... but honestly it didn`t hurt at all, it was all in my head and I`m glad I did it.
The scary part about having a c-section was when I couldn`t feel my legs and I felt like I couldn`t breath, but the doctors was great at helping me until my husband was allowed in, that`s after they put up the blue sheet, because I wanted him in before. lol.. Once I seen his face and felt him touching my fingers I was OK. I honestly didn`t feel anything during the surgery, no tugging, or nothing, and it went really fast. I remember my husband and a doctor saying he`s out! and my husband jumped up to take pics and kiss me. I started crying when I heard him cry, I couldn`t believe it was over so fast and I was able to hold my baby.
After the surgery I stayed 3 days in the hospital. My experience at Jefferson was the best! they took great care of me, and the food was good! lol... I had never stayed in a hospital all night before so it was weird, but having my husband there made it better, along with everyone who came to see me, I felt so special. People were calling and sending stuff for the baby, people I hadn`t heard from in a while too. I left there with so much stuff it was crazy, I felt like a celebrity that had just had a celebrity baby. lol.. and a celebrity to me he is.
