Mason`s birthstory

The docs broke my water at 7:49 am on Dec 19, 2007. My contractions started immediately and were 2-3 mins apart, and I made it 3 hours without any pain medication. I finally asked for the epidural and fall asleep for about 2 hours. When I woke up, I was told to sit up and let gravity do it`s job. At about 4 I started pushing and after 3 extremely painful pushes, my little guy popped right out at 4:08 pm! Unfortunately, on the last push, his shoulders tore me open. They put him right on my chest and I held his warm beautiful little body while Daddy cut the umbilical cord and cried really hard. Then Daddy took pictures while the doctors cleaned him up and stitched me up at the same time. After I was stitched, they gave me my son and I held him and we just stared at each other. It was so beautiful. Then we gave breastfeeding a try and he took to it almost immediately. He is a good eater now :)
