Yvette-Inez-Garcia`s birthstory
Wow, I can`t believe I`m writing this! I was 36 weeks and 2 days, 3cm when my water broke. I went to l&d and they started me on pitocin since I was not having any contractions. They started out slowly and increased the ammount of pit every 30 min. They were hoping to start a good labor pattern and then take me off the pit and let me continue on my own. I rolled on a birthing ball, rocked and hummed with my contractions. They took me off the pitocin and let me walk the halls, but I noticed that evrything was slowing down and asked to be put back on the pitocin. My midwife was so cool, she even brought me food!! I ate in between contractions and drank juice. The contractions picked back up in no time! I stayed standing up because I knew gravity would help things along. I noticed my pain was reaching a higher level, and I was having to do more rocking and humming/deep breathing to get through them. My midwife decided to check me and I was 6 cm. I stayed standing and man everything got intense! I knew she was moving down because I was farting uncontrolably with my contractions. The pain and pressure were really intense and I felt that I had reached my limit. I got on all fours like a dog on the bed and was almost shaking during my contractions. I could not think of anything I could do to help me get through them. I told my midwife that every time I had a contraction I felt pressure and like I was gonna poop! She had me lay down and said `the head is right here`. Now I never intended to go natural. I just told myself to take it a contraction at a time, and that if I could not take it anymore then I would get the epidural. As soon as she had me lay down, it was too late. The pressure scared the shit out of me. Pushing felt great but it also scared me. It lutteraly felt like I was shitting a bowling ball. I only pushed 4 intense times. When you don`t have an epidural you don`t need anyone counting to 10 or telling you when to push. The freakiest part was her body coming out. It hurt but what could I do/ It happened so fast. Luckily I didn`t tear :) To be honest I could have cared less when they out her on my chest because it hurt like hell down there, like I was still pushing her out. Then my midwife was pushing down so hard trying to massage the placenta out. OMG that hurt so bad. After it was out she cleaned me down there with sterile water, and I was practicly in tears begging her to stop. I guess I got a little `rug burn` down there from her and it stung so bad. I can`t believe I did it all natural. I must be on crack :) She did not have any complications and now 3 days later we are home. It feels sooooo good not to be pregnant anymore :)

Sophia-Grace-Garcia`s birthstory
Last time you heard from me I was in the hospital on bedrest.....that sucked soo bad! (My water had broken at 32 weeks) It was helll in there, all the ivs and meds they had me on to keep me pregnant. Plus I am a sahm, so hubby had to suddenly pick up the pieces and figure out everything! He and Yvette bonded superfast.
Anyway, even with all the meds I was on a nurse ended up giving me her stomach virus and I got seriously sick. I had a fever of 102 and Sophia`s heartrate was in the 200s! They litteraly had me naked laying with bags of ice all over me and eating popsicles. I was throwing up like crazy. Despite the iv`s, this got me dehydrated and is what I believe sent me into labor. I started having contractions that night, but only every 20 min. For 24 hours I had these contractions. They hurt like HELL, but never grew closer together OR showed up on the monitor(???). Because of this, the nurses did not take my pain seriously and did not think I was in labor. I was i so much pain with the contractions that I begged the nurse to call l&d and send someone to check my cervix. (because my water had broken no one wanted to examine me, afraid they would start an infection) Ofcourse the nurse said no, only when I was in real labor. I ended up on my hands and knees screaming and demanding that they take me seriously -It just so happens that my hubby and Yvette walked in my room at this time- Finally a l&d nurse comes in my room treating me as I were an ignorant teenager and begins the risks of her examining me. Yes yes yes! I say, and finally she checks me. What do you know Sophia`s head was RIGHT THERE about to pop out. OMG!!! You stupid nurse, I hope you feel like crap! As soon as she saw Sophia`s head the nurse yelled `she`s complete`, and my room got really crowded. These people start unplugging things and wheel my bed down halls to l&d. My poor husband was running behing with Yvette in the stroller, not really knowing what was going on. As soon as they pushed me into my room in l&d they broke down the bed and Sophia was born, ready or not. Whew! She was 33 weeks and weighed 5lb 2oz. She spent 7 days in the nicu, and besides needing phototherapy, did great.
