Oliver-`s birthstory
My doctors decided to induce me if I wanted because it was my second baby and I was dialating and thinning out without any contractions. The morning of my induction my contractions were already 7 min. apart. They decided to break my water before giving me pitocin to see if that would send me into labor. After trying to walk for over an hour with my water leaking so much I could not go far they decided pit. was the best way to go. Soon after they put my i.v. in and started the medication my contractions were more intense and more frequent. I made it through a couple of hours of contractions that were 2 min apart before I begged for an epidural. It seemed like an eternity before I got one. I remember the nurse saying about 20 more min and in my head wanting to break down knowing that was about 10 more contractions I had to go through. finally the epidural came and kicked in. My blood pressure dropped right away though and they gave me a shot of effedrin to boost it. Well I did not react well to that. I watched my heart monitor go from 79 ro 80 then 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140 ect all the way up to 172. I thought I was having a heart attack and my heart may explode. The worst part was the eidiural was working and I could not move from the waste down. Well they hooked me up to this stuff that flushed out my system and my heart rate went down. They checked my cervix and i was dilated to a 7 and they told me a few more hours. About 10 min. later I could feel my contractions again which was weird because I thought I was not to feel anything. Suddenly felt this gush of blood and told my finace to get a nurse I felt like I needed to push. They told me I was at a 10 and I could start pushing. About 15 min. later they told me to stop and wait for the doctor. I felt like I could not stop. Soon after the doctor arrived I gave birth to my son. I am still in pain for the stitches but man was he worth it. Its been hard to keep attention on my daughter and the new baby while in so much pain but I am trying. MY mistake today was agreeing to go to a birthday party. I should have spent about another 5 days in bed resting...now I am in sooo much pain!
