Aubrianna`s birthstory
I was given some meds to help soften the cervix at 8pm the night before I was to be induced. 12 uncomfortable HOURS later there was NO dialation..ziltch...nada...isn`t that crazy1! I have been through this 4 times already..usually I walk in at 5..6...or 7 and with meds I hadn`t dialated at all....they said it was due to scar tissue caused by a past surgery. Sooooo when the doctor checked me she decided to break through the scar tissue...this was the most painful part of my labor and when she was finished I was dialated to 4 ;D. She asked if she could break the water but I asked for an epideral first. The contractions started a couple hours prior when they had checked me and hadn`t stopped..they were irregular...anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes apart. After they did the last check the contractions became more intense and an about an hour and a half later I got my epederal!! I never had an epideral before...it was nice;) One of the reasons I chose this route was because my little princess has a heart defect and I wanted to be ready if she needed to get out quick (emergency c section). That never happened..THANK GOD. After the epideral I sat for hours and when they went to check a few minutes before 11 she was already right there...crowning!! I pushed twice and she was out with no cut or tears...and she is beautiful with a head full of dark hair. My 18 year old daughter stayed by my side until Aubrianna started to come...then she was right there waiting for her...kind of ironic because I was 18 when I had her..lol...time flies. The next day...early afternoon they took Aubrianna for her first surgery...to place a shunt to help her heart...It was soooo scary but my baby girl is fiesty and strong...she did great. She is in the PICU and I am longing to just hold her..I am getting discharged tomorrow and I will be camping out in her room until she can come home to mine!!
