Feb. 25th I had my 36 wk appointment with my OB, which I had been waiting weeks for, to do a u/s and finally meet the woman. I`ve only seen midwives up until that point. Once she came in and did the u/s she said he was 8 pounds already and wanted me to start trying to induce myself pretty much. She checked my cervix, I was already at 2cm 50% effaced and she said my cervix was really soft so she stretched me to 3cm. I was put on the no sex rule at about 32 weeks and so I knew if I went home and id the BD it would start labor. I left the office around 11:20am. The drive home I was having contractions which I just thought were from the exam. Once I got home they slowed down a little bit so I started to get things ready just incase.

Around 3pm I started to get contractions close together and they were more painful. I just laid down and tried to wait it out. I really didn`t want to try to start things until the weekend had so much to do, plus he was 36wks to the day. Anyways I called John to ask when he was coming home because they were getting strong and not going away. I called L&D they said to come in. We got to the hospital around 5-6pm. Contractions were 4-3 mins apart and about a 5 on the pain scale. I couldn`t talk when I had them. Once we got into a room I had 2 nurses. I think one was a student and the other didn`t seem to know much either I later learned. They checked me and I was still at 3 cm. They said they would call my doctor and be back in a hr. Doctor said to check me again (which I hated because they both had to do it, thats why I don`t think they knew much) they said I was still at a 3, or well one said your somewhat still a 3. By this time the pain is getting worse and Im like somewhat?? WTH is that. I`m then told my doctor is leaving and one of her midwifes will be coming on and will see me but i need to walk around for a least a hr.

I`m walking, or trying to walk, around the hospital but don`t get to far the pain is worse and I knew they were trying to get my water to break since they said my bag was right there just ready to pop. I got back to my room and by this time the pain is so bad I`m shaking from it, making all the moaning noises rocking on the edge of the bed stuff. The midwife comes in and goes to check me, HOLY COW she does it as I`m contracting. I`ve never felt pain so bad. I scream and start balling my eyes out my legs start shaking so bad the other nurse had to hold them. I felt bad because this whole time my son is there because they didn`t know if they were going to keep me and his father lives around 40 mins away. He gets scared. The midwife said your a 5 baby is at station 0 your little boy will be here tonight! This is around 8:30pm. So they put me in a wheel chair and it was like a movie I`m grabbing the sides in pain the nurse is flying down the hall with John and my son running behind. We get to the room where they are trying to start an IV so I can get the epidural. She`s telling me she can find a vine on my wrist n without it they can`t give me the epi. I was ready to put an IV in my eye by this point. Finally they get it in and here comes wonder woman with the drugs. After I get the epi the midwife comes in and realizes I was just tested for the strep b and my results wont be in for 3 day so they have to give me the meds to be safe. So we were thinking he would be born around 10 but got pushed back to 3-4am. After we get the 2nd bag of meds going she comes in around 1:30 and was going to break my water but it went on its own once she was there. By 2 am I`m feeling the I have to poop pressure and just hold it out because she said she be back by 2:30. She came in and checked me which I knew I was ready. They start hurrying to get things together because he is already making his way out and 10 mins later he arrived! This was my 2nd vaginal delivery but the 1st time I felt the contractions or pushing him out. Now I`m sure to some the pain wouldn`t have been that bad but I thought I was dying. I felt the ring of fire burn when his head started to come out. Which is true is once he came out they pain was gone BUT NOT forgotten!! he was beautiful I got to hold him right away as John was able to cut the cord. They then took him over to exam him because he wasn`t full term and after 10/15mins realized he was having a hard time breathing. He was taking double the amounts of breaths he should. He hopefully will be home Tues or Wed. I can`t wait! Thank you all for the congrats and prayers. Sorry for such a long story.

This is Miss Olivia my stepdaughter. She is so sweet and beautiful. I miss her all the time, as she lives in AL with her mother. I get to see her every 6 months, then this coming October we get to see her more and I'm super excited to have her spend more time with us and our boys!
