Paxton-Michael-Martin`s birthstory
I went into the hospital on Tuesday night at 8:55 with bad contractions, when they checked me I was only 1 cm dialated and 75% effaced. They told me that I was probably in labor, but only early labor. They were going to send me home with an Ambien to sleep and wait it out. The nurse was out of my room for about a total of 5 minutes and then about 4 nurses and the on call doc came rushing into my room after a really bad contraction! They put an IV into my arm and hooked me up to a Saline Drip and said that they were going to admit me tonight. Once I got into my room they tried to let the labor progress naturally but I wasn`t progressing, so they started me on Pitocin. Then the seriously painful contractions started! I went for 17 hours naturally when I finally caved and decided that the pain was too much to bear. I opted for an Epidural. Which was very nice! Finally on Thursday morning at 2:45 they had me start pushing. But before I could get the baby out I had to push to turn my cervix the right way, it was facing the wrong way, I also had to push to get from 90% effaced to 100%, and from a 9 to a 10! Once that was taken care of I got to start trying for my baby. In all of 33 minutes I had my little man! He was born Thursday November, 6th at 3:33 am. He weighed 9 lbs and 2 ounces and was 22 and 3/4 inches long! He was exactly a week overdue! I`m glad that they didn`t let me go any further! During my labor I came down with a bad fever and had to be put on yet another medicine because it was creating an infection in my amniotic fluid. Once Paxton was born he had to be taken down to Peds as a precautionary measure to make sure that he was okay. He was downstairs for two days while we were waiting for his tests to come back and be good so that he could be released from Peds . Now he is home and my husband and I are enjoying every second that we get with him!
