Camila-Soleil`s birthstory

So tuesday (augsut 12) night, hubby and I went to a restaurant in the Metro Atlanta area that is famous for putting women into labor within 48 hours of eating their Eggplant Parmigiana dish. Since we figured my orginal due date to be August 6th, we also figured it wouldn`t hurt to try in between both due dates. Wednesday morning I lost the rest of my plug (I think) and told my boss I wanted to leave early (noonish) and go `walk this baby out of me` He just laughed and said `ok, otherwise I`ll see you tomorrow`. so went to pick up MIL and her MIL and we went to a mall (coincidentally 7 miles from the hospital) and walked around for a good 4 hours. hubby arrived at 430, and the contractions started at 5. contrary to popular belief, they did NOT `take my breath away` and it was NOT obvious that labor had started or was going to start. However, i did time them (4-6 minutes) and they did not go away. We got to the hospital at 8, and I was hooked up to the machine to measure said contractions and when I asked the nurse if she thought I would be sent home, she said `not with the contractions like they are`. They broke my water at 930, and at 1030 gave me the epidural and we settled in for the long haul. I actually half way slept through the night. Dad came up about 330 am and we watched some Olympics til 430!! I pushed for 30 minutes and she was born at 513. Omar helped me pushing (mom too but she didn`t look! LOL) and he cut Camila`s cord. He was SO proud. and I DID cry. The funniest part was the fact she had a BUNCH of black hair! I thought she would be bald like I was. We`re home now, and after only a week I think we`re getting used to things.
