Mazie-May Johnson. Daughter To Laura Johnson and Tom Leonard. Born 6th December 2007 at 9.11am. Weighed 8lbs 8oz. <3

Birth Story.

People always said to me when i was pregnant, that i would no when i was in labour. but i didnt lol. Mazie was due on the 27th November, but she decided that she didnt want to be born then. so she hung on for another 9 days and was born on December 6th 07.

Anyways, the 3rd December i started to get pains and i wasnt sure what they were (these are the pains people say you are ment to no what they are). i was havin them every 8 to 10 mins. They were not rele rele painful. just very uncomfortable. These pains carried on over night and the next day. on the 5th Dec the midwife came to my house to do a sweep because of how over due i was. i was 4cm when she did that. that night i was watching 40 year old virgin on tv. and i was havin bad contractions that were between 5 and 8 mins apart. people kept tellin me to phone the hospital because i was in labour. but i didnt wanna beleive it. so i waited till the film had finished.

When i phoned the hospital i explained to the midwife what i was feeling, she said it was prob just early labour and that i could go in if i wanted just to be checked. so i did.

I phoned tom at about 11.45 on that night and got him to take me to the hospital. when i got there the midwife just got me to lay on the bed and get ready for an internal examination. she said i was very calm so she would prob send me home again. which is what i thought would happen..... but no!

I was 6cm dilated when she did the internal and she said i wasnt going anywhere because i was in labour. so... i got changed. midwife said that if my waters didnt break themselves, that she would break them for me at 6am. it was about 12.30am on December 6th at this time. i was dreadin a 5 and half hour wait for something to happen. every 4 mins i was having contractions at this time that were just gettin worse and worse. and because baby was back to back, i was havin really bad back pains. so i had people rubbin my back everytime i had a contraction. every 2 hoursish i had a midwife come in and do an internal, but still my waters had not broken.

It came to 6am and by this time i was very nervous about what was going to happen. the midwife came in and broke my waters for me. that was the grosest thing ever!! it was like a really huge hot wee!! not nice!!

After this the contractions got so much more painful and closer together. the pain was gettin really bad, so i tried gas and air. i wasnt a fan at first and i was saying it didnt work, but tom shouted at me and told me i needed to use it lol! so i did. and it did help eventually.

I cant rele remember what happened after that. its all just kinda a blur of pains!! i had my eyes shut for most of it. its funny because it was dark when i shut my eyes and it was day light when i opened them again lol!. i just remember people tellin me to breath. i was so tired. i kept falling asleep inbetween contractions. it was so so hot in that room though! i remember some fool putting a towel on my legs, but i wasnt having any of that i was waaaaay to hot lol. one thing i also remember is nearly rolling off the bed lol. if tom wasnt stood there i would have been on the floor. lol........ but OMG the pain is sooooooooo so bad!

It came to when i needed to push! thats such a strange feeling! but pushin took the pain away. i had my mom holding one hand and tom holding the other. i do remember squeezin their hands hard. made me feel better at the time lol. but i managed it with out pain releif and with out screaming. i was impressed. oh and for all those people who think every woman poos when they are givin birth.... your wrong!! lol.

Mazie-May was born at 9.11am that morning. she weighed 8lbs8oz and was 20" longish. lol. i was so light headed when i had had her, thats all kinda a blur aswell, because of the gas and air. makes you feel drunk its odd lol. we were in hospital for 3 days after.

it is an amazin experiance, but i wont be rushing into that pain again. and i definatly would not do it with out pain releif again lol. but it is so worth it. i now have a beautiful baby girl and i dont think i could love any1 more
