Colin`s birthstory
It was very strange walking into the hospital not in labor and saying `hi I`m here for my c-section!` Sadly I didn`t get a birthing suite because there would be no labor... instead I go to this room with several beds divided by `privacy curtains` for all pregos waiting for c-sections. I was supposed to have mine at 12:30pm but got bumped by a prego carrying twins whose water broke...and I`m starving already!
Finally they send me back I hop up on the OR table, get my spinal... felt what they called a `shock` in my leg from the anesthesia... that was freaky. My doc was late...whatever! They lay me down...not totally numb yet and getting worried, they do the cathetar and I`m feeling pretty numb finally yay!!! Doc comes in starts working on me then hubby comes in and all 6`4 of him almost hits the floor as he sees what they are doing to me.
Doc announces that I have a lot of scar tissue and that this may take a while...grrr, I wanna meet my baby!!! Then they suction my water and the doc says loudly `WOAH, holy poly!` meaning I had a lot of excess amniotic fluid. Then I hear WAHHHHHHH and it was my little man!!!!
8lbs 13oz and 19 inches 9 and 9 for 1 and 5 minute apgar! He literally came out making sucking noises, that boy was hungry already!!!
The rest of the c-section sucked apparently they were inadvertently tugging on a tendon connected to my chest... painful as hell and my bp dropped dangerously low which made me feel very nauseous.
All said and done I went through some pain but it was all well worth it. I went back to the curtained area and immediately got to hold and feed my little guy and I took pics, posted them to FB and was just sooooo happy. They gave me so many meds that I couldn`t go to my room for 5 hours because I couldn`t move my legs lol.
Colin is a wonderful baby, very easy going and a little lazy, I sometimes have to wake him up to eat. He tracks objects already, is very alert and smiles and coos already... no really he does!!!
I am truly blessed to have given birth to not only one but 3 beautiful, wonderful boys... I`m sooooo loving life!
