Ezekiel-Thomas`s birthstory

Early Wednesday morning (around 1 am), I began waking up with contractions. They continued for several hours and I began to notice I was losing my mucuos plug. I had a dr`s appt at 9:30 where my dr stripped my membranes. By 10, I was feeling contractions :-) My mom and I walked around the dr`s office building and hospital until my husband came. Just after 4:30pm, we checked in to L&D and they said I was at a 4 and 50%. They sent me to walk for an hour and check back in and by 6pm I was at a 5 and 80%! I got set up in a room and we walked around for a while and I got in the jetted bath tub (amazing!) until my nurse checked me just before 9 and I was at a 7. Afterwards, I got up to use the bathroom and my water broke! Contractions just progressed from there and I started pushing around 1am. My cervix wasn`t dialating completely and baby was flipped sunny-side up so back labor was intense! I had the best nurses though, and my husband and my mom were right there encouraging me :-) Finally, at 2:36am, little Ezekiel made his appearance!

About 10am the next morning, they took him up to the NICU for a suspected infection and he ended up staying there for 7 days :-( Hardest thing ever leaving your baby in the hospital when you have to go home! Definitely has taught me a new thing about trusting God and his plans! Finally, we came home Thursday afternoon and have been loving our time ever since :-)
