Caleb`s birthstory

I got to the hospital at 7:30 and they were able to get me into my room right away. Right around 8am I got the Pitocin started. I felt nothing for a while even with strong contractions. I thought it was nice. For the longest time I was just sitting there waiting for everything to progress. My doctor finally came back in at 1:30pm, broke my water and inserted an internal catheter to check contractions.

THAT is when I REALLY felt it. haha. I ended up getting the epidural. I had to, I couldn't go without it. I had BAD back labor. I got that lovely catheter you mentioned i thought that it was GREAT. Then a different kind of pain hit me. It felt like something was cutting/stabbing me on the inside. I started feeling that around 4:30. They all told me that it was just the pressure of everything and it would ease off, it didn't.

She examined me and told me that I had gone from 5cm to 8cm in less than two hours so it what the baby head I was feeling moving down. That was at 8pm, UGH. The doctor told me that I still had a while to go but he would come in when I showed better progress

That is when it was so bad I started crying. I cried for 3 hours telling them that something was wrong and that I thought it was the internal catheter and I wanted it taken out. The new nurse on shift REFUSED to even listen to me. I started pushing at 9:30pm. Dr Bradley finally came back in. I did the best that I could and I wasn't getting anywhere. I was hurting so bad. The pain I was feeling the the feeling to push but it NEVER left.

At midnight I went in for a c-section. I couldn't even straighten my legs because of the pain. I was BEGGING to be knocked out. Though I was given more pain killers I swore I could still feel them cutting me.... I was in and out of consciousness during the whole thing. It took two doctors pulling from the inside and a nurse pushing from the inside to get him unstuck. The doctors got him out at 1:02am.

I later found out that I have a bony prominence on the back of my tail bone. there was no way he would get through. He is my world and I wouldn't change anything that happened....
