Samuel was my 2nd baby. We got pregnant with him when my daughter was 6 months old. He was a surprise but we were so very excited about him! We found out at our 12 week nuchal screen ultrasound that he had a VERY large nuchal fold and they told us to expect him to pass away within a couple of weeks. He held on for 8 long weeks. We had an ultrasound every week till the 20th week. That was his last ultrasound. His little heart had stopped beating and he had passed away. Losing our son was very devistating and difficult. We miss him very much!

Griffin is our 3rd baby. He was concieved the first month of trying. We were very nervous throughout the pregnancy as we had lost our baby before him. Thankfully everything went well and he was born 4 days before his EDD and weight 8 lbs 13 ounces. I was so happy when I held him for the first time I cried!

Harrison-Gabriel`s birthstory

I had my baby! Here is the birth story..
I was not feeling well all friday night and saturday morning. I felt like I was just sick to my stomach and antsy and I could only get a few hours sleep. Well then at about 7 am I started throwing up and shortly after diareah started. At about 11 am I thought that my face and lips looked swollen so I asked my husband and he agreed. A little later my sisters came over and said they thought so too. After being on the fence a while about it and still being o so very sick! We decided to go in and get me checked out and hopefully fluids. So we got to the hospital about 2 pm and they checked my bp which was fine and also tested my blood and urine which came back fine as well. During that time they had me hooked up to monitors and I was consistantly having contractions 2-3 minutes apart and my cervix had chanced from 2 cm at my last dr. appointment to 3 cm. So after like 5 hours they decided to keep me and move me to a permanent room. Which was really great b/c the bed I had been in was narrow and SO uncomfortable! At that time the contractions were starting to hurt and they checked me again I was at 4cm. At some point they broke my water and I got an epi during which I was also getting low blood pressue readings like I do when im in labor only it was worse b/c I was really sick too.
I progressed to 5 cm and sort of stalled there for a few hours. They decided to give me pitocin to help me progress more. After that I continued to progress at a decent rate. I continued to have blood pressure problems. At one point I remember my husband telling me my b/p was 63/33. Also during that time Harrison`s heart rate was having some issues as well. The doctor started talking to me about the strong possibility of a c-section. They were able to get his heart rate ok with me staying in a certain position and the gave me oxygen for several hours to help the baby. All this time 2 nurses, the nurse anesthasist (sp?) and the doctor stayed in the room watching the monitors. At one point the nurse ran fluids back into my uterus to help alive pressure on the cord.
Finally I got to the point of being complete and ready to push. It was so difficult b/c I was so completely weak before I even started but I did the very best I could which wasnt that great. The doctor used forcepts and I continued to push the best I could and he came out! The cord was wraped around his neck and body and he was sunny side up. He was also very dark purple which scared me but it was pretty quick when he started crying. They check him all out and he was just fine other than some sore places on his head from the forcepts. I had to be stiched up for a while b/c I got a 3rd degree rip.
He was born April 27th at 4:56 am. He weighed 8 lbs 7 ounces and 22 inches his head is 14`. He is so sweet and had the cutest little cry and so far he is a pretty good baby. He breastfeeds well also. I am totally over the flu now and less sore than yesturday though there is still a lot pain from the rip and when he nurses I cramp up really bad it HURTS. It was not even this bad with my others but I heard that the cramping gets worse after each baby so I believe it!
I am so glad to have all of this over and done with. It was a very difficult birth but he is so worth it and im very thankful that the doctors and nurses were so good to us and that I also didnt end up with a c-section. If it had come to that then I would have been ok b/c I just want my little guy safe but im glad it didnt come to that. Anyway, thats Harrison`s birth story!
