Isaiah-Nathaniel`s birthstory

I went in to be induced in the morning. They broke my water at about 9 am and I hoped to naturally start labor. Although they had monitors hooked up and were not allowing me to move -- annoying.... Nothing happened so pitocin was started at about 11:30 and still nothing for a long time.. Occasional menstral cramp but nothing regula enough to call labor- less then my usual cramping when taking a walk.. By 2 Pm I started to get regular contractions. I was starting early labor. I felt relazed and was able to breath throughthem - called my moma dn daughter to join us. Soon things changed - by 3:30 I starting thinking nubain would be nice but thought I may still wait a bit. The nurse checked me and I was a 6 and said it should be now. It helped me feel good or somewhat releived for umm ...maybe 2 minutes. Quickly things spiraled out of control. the pain was much more intense then with my other 2 labors. She checked me again at an 8 and I could feel I was in transition.. She said tell me when you want to bear down . I kept yelling ` I can`t do this! someone help me!` while my hubby held my hand and leg telling me I was doing great. I kept thinking or saying no I`m not and they were shoutingot push - My baby needed to get out and quick as his heart beat was way down. He had not even entered the birth cananl and after a few very hard pushes he got low enough the Dr was able to help me with forceps. What a releif yet - they did not hand me my baby. I knew something was wrong. I heard them yelling he isn`t breathing and tons of people rushing in - CPR/ oxygen - My dr stood above him working hard. I turned to my hubby saying `oh no he is going to die` My hubby just bowed his head and prayed!.. Then I heard `We have a heartbeat.` Son after I heard a soft cry that got lougder - I jumped off the bed to see my baby. I kept kissing his forehead as tons of people were still surrounding him working on him. He went from a 2 apgar score to a 9 in 5 minutes!

What had happened was the cord was around his neck very tight and he was posterior thus was not droppng into the birth canal. The dr`s had just been to a class the week before and received training on what to do in these cases. God saved our baby!

After about an hour of holding him he was lathrgic and sleepy and his temp and heart rate went down enought hat they were concerned enough to send him the the childrens NICU over an hour away. Myhuubby stayed there and I had to stay where I was. So sad- but did get good care and pumped.. thennext moring at 11 am less then a day later was dicharged and stayed at the hospital with my baby and hubby. Thankfully they had a sleep room! They had to keep him 48 hours but he improved greatly and nuses so amazing I`m thrilled - He is now up to 8lb 11 oz!!! I love him so much and there is more to share but tired as we just got home today.

God is soo good!!!!!
